Dave looked very surprised to Eriksson, then he looked in his glass, and back again to the stars.
"It's nothing Eriksson... it .... never mind it. Happened long time ago... If I could knew..."
He took another drink of scotch, watching carefully each constellation.

Leaning against a wall was Seth, unnoticed because of the shadows he found.
"Our father died by the Nomads. Its by that one act that Jeremy joined the Order. I wasnt old enough to wipe tge drool from my chin...anyways. Dont let the past hold you back. Let it drive you foreward."
Seth left to another room, leaving Erik and Dave.

"I had many losses in my life, and passed over, but it seems... like this is too much, and the memories..."
Dave took another drink of scotch watching deep into space...
"I'm just moaning and keep saying things like a small child... I'm so embarassed of my state."
He went closer to Erik and told him in a more whispering tone.
"Interesting is that... everything started after I met Hunter's twin...*he looked very embarassed*. Really... she reminded me a lot of ... Ashley. It was nice to see that a beautiful young lady like her, was "interested" in me... I guess. I never had a chance to do such things before I've lost Ash. I think I like her Erik... but... I think I said something to her and upset her... I know I am clumsy... and it's something else. Cerberus can't allow me to go into these feelings, sometimes I hate very hard what I do... After all, protecting humanity brings some sacrifices... and that counts even my life. *he sighed very deep* I just ... don't want to act stupid because of this... never felt something for 9 years... when all my feelings went lost with my dear Ashley. For me... this evening was more then a simple dinner Erik, something unique, I met lots of ... friends."
He took again a drink scotch this time until the end of the glass.

Ellie was getting a bit worried. Getting up, she traced the path Dave had took. Finding him and Erik, she sighed.
"Everything alright?"

Dave noticed Ellie coming, he put a small smile on his face but then he saddened very much because he knew he couldn't express his feelings for her, or at least what he thought he has, and the eternal hidden pain he had that twisted his clever mind.
"Everything is ... *he turned his look back to the stars* fine."
Thinking about his parents, he knew is overwhelmed.
"My parents.... are very old... I don't know how much they will live. Then... I will have nobody close to me. Most of you thought "I have them all", It's not true... that's the cost I paid for fighting in the name of humankind. It's not fair... not fair..."
He took a strong drink of scotch watching the beautiful panorama. He pointed to the stars, and he said very quietly.
"Because of this... "

"Dave...I know how you feel...I lost my parents and my wife, so I know. The only thing keeping me in life is the thought that they would want me to move on, to explore life. But you, on the other hand are in a status quo situation...you love Ellie because she reminds you of Ashley, but you can't love her with all its worth because there is still a chance of her being alive and you don't want to betray Ashley. I'm a man that doesn't lose hope and mark my words Dave, we will once again enter that mysterious system and find out what happened to Ashley and we need to do it as soon as possible, if you would like I could start preparing a op to Sprague and find some puzzle pieces there as soon as Jack is back in the saddle."

Dave made a small smile and looked at Erik.
"You are a wise man Erik, a very wise man."
He took a pause.
"Right, and know Ellie being here... I think.. she knows. Yes I do care about you Ellie *and he looked to her*, but I am twisted between my duty and my feelings. And regarding Ashley, is even more painful. It's impossible to think that she survived... there were these creatures that apparently were K'Hara ships. If so she is drifted in space for 9 years...vacuum damage, space cold and other biological critical damage. Until now I secretly studied the effects of a Phased Jumphole, a special Jump Hole, very unstable and can send you to more exotic systems. There was one in Edinburgh as well. These are rare phenomenas... and I don't know how to open or create this.. It's impossible."
He gave Ellie a look in her eyes, showing his sincerity, then he looked again to the stars very tense holding the glass very strong.

"We'll find her. But now let's focus on current events..the lobsters should be here any minute now."

"Wedjat Operative Ellie Hunter ready to roll."
Giving a cokcy grin, she gave Dave a quick hug.
"As long as there's life..."
