hmm...there was a nomad sniper gun on the Void server. perhaps take a look at their mod? rest will be easy i guess.

I don't know about all that you listed (because that ridiculosly high hull damage breaks all pretends of balance, leading to powergame/abuse/etcetc), but a beam damage kinda of gun would indeed be awesome.

Sniper will become insanely overpowered in FL due to autoaim feature. Remove the autoaim for sniper gun and I think it will be okay.

Your aim get automatically redirected at the enemy ship when you hover the mouse over them.

No, those will be hard to balance and easy to abuse. Everything is pretty fine already with waste variety, stop pulling out ideas that have no options but to fail. From my opinion we already have alot of doubtfully useful stuff which requires lots of time for balancing and fixing.

"Ideas that have no options but to fail" is a pretty harsh sentence -- everything has a way if you look hard enough. Just because you think the idea sucks doesn't mean it has no merits.

Call me a bad pewer, but autoaim has screwed me over numerous times when it targeted the missile insteqd of the ship behind it.

Flashpoints cant kill anything better than a transport in a reasonable amount of time
And I've always thought razors wre more torpedo than cannon with (and especially) the slow speeds of gb and bomber razors.

Sinxe fl operates on therisatmosphere in space and we fly weird shapd airplanes physics, i thought the sniper should be more like real snipers -not very strong or powerful vs large ships but useful for helping your team mates take out specific equipment eg enemy turrets from a long distance after they've shut down the shields. Afterall snipers are generally more of a tactical unit, be silly for them to go head on (aside from the ridiculilous upgraded sniper rifle in fcbd) against caps unless they plan on being hull holepunchers for the next twenty years.

(great rp opputunity though- "this rogue here has been trying to destroy my bs with his sniper bloodhound for the past twenty years." he's too fast for my turrets, and every now and then he takes out one of my men but never does permanent damage t the ship, but he keeps the men on their toes and the atmosphere interesting)
