RE: Remove snac in favour of wide torpedo selection. - Haste - 11-13-2013 Let bomber pilots who can aim their SNACs, even with the recent nerf that definitely made it harder (especially if the VHF knows how to exploit the rather slow-tracking barrel of the SNAC), be a threat to fighters, please. Making them completely toothless would just make fighting them exceedingly boring. That ever-present risk of a SNAC to the face is fun, if you ask me, both if you're the one in the bomber and if you're the one killing it. Torpedoes have been added, the Hellfire Rocket Pod has been added, and who uses them? Barely anyone at all. SNAC is a point-click-damage mechanism, in my mind much less inventive and original than the tactic required to effectively fire a torpedo- Remember your speed depends greatly on the speed of the missile you're launching, whichever it is, while a SNAC is always the absolute same. It takes skill firing, yes, but a different kind of skill- This being knowing the difference between a selected weapon's speed and the SNAC's own, and moving your mouse a bit in front or behind the target reticle. The lag might be an issue, and if it proves an unfixable one, then- Perhaps the SNAC should have a splash, or, get this: Perhaps firing a SNAC should temporarily disrupt your shield like dropping cargo on certain ships does, after all- It's a huge wad of antimatter passing through it. RE: Remove snac in favour of wide torpedo selection. - Hidamari - 11-13-2013 It seems quite a lot of people are basing their opinion on the torpedos currently available at the moment, being pretty much dominated by a single type, the Nova torpedo. if the snac were removed there would need to be many weapon additions to the bombers arsenal, im not proposing to remove snac and leave them toothless, im intending to remove the Huge beaver tooth that gnaws through every target infront of it with amazing ease, in favour of a nice set of neatly aligned but razor sharp teeth. Bomber guns would have to be improved to deal with fighters because right now they are shockingly bad. Bomber mines would also be superb, though dont know how you would stop fighters using them. give them massive drain i guess. They are otherwise too slow to PvP effectively against snubs, and too under armored to make close range attacks on everything bigger without getting chewed up. I can understand people getting frustrated when very good.bomber pilots are cleaning house with the insta-kill SNAC shots, but I don't see removing the gun altogether as the answer. Maybe.compensate by increasing bomber gun damage and refire rate?
