Who said anything about engines and ID-based techcompat? Engines are not planned to become "faction property", so to say, or effect the powercore like guns do. Worst comes to worst, they'll just be added to the ship-based techcompat to avoid outright ooRP combos while allowing everything else at 100%.

Final fail in feature's coffin.

Why I even bothered to buy 1 engine.

Thank you for this plugin! I hope it gets expanded to work with caps, and that you guys aren't discouraged or disgusted by certain debbie downers whom I shall not name.

perhaps engines for pob's? say 50meter limit per day? anyway, plugin works just fine and hopefully it will be expanded, btw - what about the pobs?

POBs are a side feature and they will reappear when it is time for them to reappear.

The thing was in using the engine color of your desire w\o any bonus to anything else since all the engines are exactly the same stat wise. And you're going to limit the thing with ship-based nerfs. From one side you're right that it's not really cool to install Rheinland engines into Liberty ship and so on. But the whole thing is to have a choice between different effects - if it's not actually work then function will see not much use at all and can be considered a waste of time. And I don't see a single person applying for SRP to get engines of different color, lol.

No one SRPed different colour engines because no one wanted to write several months worth of RP and pay 250 million credits to get a different colour of fluff coming out the back of their ship.

Exactly.

Now all the engines are actually available for picking so you can play around your ship's lights and engines for your liking. And then the choice is to be reduced to 1-2 choices flat. Well, it's better then 0 of cause, but was it worth the effort really?

I'd vote for keeping the feature as it is now, w\o restrictions. It do nothing bad and I don't see why it should be "fixed" if it's not broken.

I still think some obviously what-the-four-letter-word worthy combos (Upholder with Rheinland engines, Titan with Outcast engines, that kinda thing) should be... probably not allowed, but y'know. That's just me trying to be logical with Discovery.
