For example: if I run into Pirate X...and I know, either from previous encounters, or from hearing about it from others via comms or whatnot, that Pirate X is a dishonorable dog who kills traders after they have met his demands, I will be very hesitant to submit myself to his demand. Looks like you've completely modified your post now.... What is the reason for this? Now my reply looks like it's there for no reason. RE: Server rule 3.3 modification/addition needed? - Highland Laddie - 12-17-2013 I didn't completely edit it...I just added the "Not" at the end of my post. If you'd like me to restate the overall purpose of my post...if pirates want to overreach and become too greedy, too ruthless, and too unreasonable in their demands/attitude/demeanor towards the traders they are pirating...it will catch up to them and hurt them. Case in point - if a pirate makes a demand, has his demand met, and then kills the trader...that's is going to spread around...and soon nobody will be complying with that pirate...and soon folks with begin just outright ignoring that pirate...which is how angry silent traders are born. Not saying a pirate can't be a ruthless, backstabbing scallywag...but that's going to be reflected in his interactions, maybe at present and in the future. And folks should be prepared for the consequences, both inRP and ooRP, of such actions. RE: Server rule 3.3 modification/addition needed? - Thargoid - 12-17-2013 Apologies, I don't think it was you that posted that, seems his post has been deleted. I agree with you in any case, demands should always be reasonable, and no more than 100%, ever, killing the trader after they've paid exceeds the 100% as they've lost all of their cargo, and had to pay the pirate. Having said that, if a player flames the pirate afterwards, don't expect the pirate to sit there and take it, even //ooRP chat counts IMO. Agree 100%. You run your mouth with a blood-thirsty pirate...you better be prepared to face the consequences. That being said...a pirate should naturally be understanding that his actions will cause some ill will. |
