RE: You know what we need? A hotspot. - LunaticOnTheGrass - 12-18-2013 Personally I'd ridiculously buff goods going to/from Gallia, even more than they are now. A lot of powertraders seem to think in pure credits/sec, and where there are traders, there will be pirates. If you haven't yet seen Gallia as of 4.87, you should have a look. The Devs actually did a good job at making the House's lanes piratable. At least, in comparison to earlier versions. RE: You know what we need? A hotspot. - Jack_Henderson - 12-18-2013 While the commodity buffs were nice, they never actually led to the formation of anything that would even compare to a "hub", as I take the term. Hubs were places that were always full, that generate roleplay and pvp at the hub, and generated traffic towards very few known station, thus fueling the bottleneck activity and the end-system activity. I still think that routes that go from a hub to a main system should have a +1000 cr./sec advantage over their normally calculated price. That keeps alternative, safe selling points as they are now, but heavily encourages the use of the "main drop off points". e.g. Malta would buy Slaves at "normal price now+1000" while the price somewhere in Taus remains untouched. Planet Denver would buy ores for +1000 (likely except Berryl), and Berryl would be +1000 at its Gallic selling point. I think you get the idea. The main goods for smuggling, mining, and also "faction relevant rp goods" (Gatelane parts for Gatelane, Synth Food for Synth, etc) should be permanently buffed on their main route. It's kinda hard to explain, but I hope you just get the idea. Would be nice to have every faction suggest a special route/commodity. RE: You know what we need? I have vague suspicion Liberty is always actice because they got newbie spawnpoint there....If we had FlHook magic spawning each next new player randomly in every House capital instead of in the heart of Liberty... 2.) Commodity buffs - sure, but don't screw it like the last time pls. "2 weeks long" Silver Ore buff which took few months successfully made me quite critical about the whole idea. 3.) We already got some bottlenecks - Stuttgart, Shikoku, S13, Honshu, California... Imo they just need more lawfuls to patrol them, as an answer to pirates camping lanes. 4.) Almost forgot, perhaps the most important point - guys, this game is aging, we lost around 100 players over the last 1.5 years due to various reasons, gameplay pace slowed down significantly in many places, especially in Kusari, Rheinland, Sairland (remember forum and skype drama that "OC are dead", "Kusari is dead" and "Rheinland becomes 2nd Kusari" ?)... Sure, Disco still is way too big, but we need to remember it's small, niche mod with small playerbase. We're not EVE, loss of 20 players is noticeable here. Especially if those are active dedicated ones, playing as certain faction and/or in certain area/House. RE: You know what we need? A hotspot. - P1vas - 12-19-2013 Not Munich. Omega-11 would work fine (if it is reverted to vanilla look) just because it's between Sairs, Hessians and O-7 RE: You know what we need? A hotspot. - Jack_Henderson - 12-19-2013 O11 is far in the periphery now. Not a hub location after O9 was introduced. RE: You know what we need? A hotspot. - sindroms - 12-19-2013 Kusari can be a good choice, agreed. That place needs some activity. RE: You know what we need? RE: You know what we need? A hotspot. - eigos - 12-20-2013 I love sigma 13. You dont see a thing, there are random flashes of thunder, revealing a barge in the distance.... Then something red spawns nearby. Its a bunch of blood dragons. Suddenly a Wilde RM gunboat uncloaks and wants your guts for anal-lysis. Do want! Ive been there since 4.82, flying that eagle (and later that catamaran bomber) and killing things that probably should have been pirated instead....good times! Even killed a Lunchbox at one point. |
