RE: Omicrons systems layout re-work. - Kazinsal - 12-21-2013 There are no actually completely empty systems. There are systems that contain a base or two but are otherwise almost completely unused. Those are empty in the sense that no one touches them except once in a blue moon. RE: Omicrons systems layout re-work. - Xalrok - 12-21-2013 Sigma-60 and Omicron-64 were literally deleted and they were connected to the rest of the map. I was surprised that Omicron-96 and 93 weren't deleted either in 4.87. If those systems can be deleted, I don't see why places like Yukon and Tau-42 can't be deleted either. As for deleted systems like Yukon, make their jumps intersect with another jump hole so that players can't jump back into them, like the Unknown > Pennsylvania hole. Then they'd depopulate by themselves and could be deleted. RE: Omicrons systems layout re-work. - Echo 7-7 - 12-21-2013 (12-21-2013, 12:31 PM)Xalrok Wrote: ... This was on my to-do list, which I have just completed. RE: Omicrons systems layout re-work. - Panzer - 12-21-2013 my vision of the omicrons is composed of theta, gamma, alpha, beta, minor, mu, kappa, delta, iota, both majors, 90 and 92. No connection to Alaska. Keep it vanilla with in-system additions to keep in line with mod development. And keep the stuff that makes the order and nomads playable. The idea is to turn delta into a hotspot like it deserves and reduce the amont of redundant systems that only create distance between factions that would normally all meet in Delta. RE: Omicrons systems layout re-work. - Echo 7-7 - 12-21-2013 First post updated with a revised map. I do believe deleting (obviously not manually) all references to said system and moving anyone inside them to a neighboring system is an option, no? RE: Omicrons systems layout re-work. - Sava - 12-21-2013 Whatever you think, Echo, .85 Alpha-Eta-Theta route was way better. How about you stop your server killing experiments and use something that has proven itself to be good already? Also... Omicron-81? Anyone? Edit: http://discoverygc.com/forums/showthread.php?tid=108593 RE: Omicrons systems layout re-work. - tyro - 12-21-2013 and omega 15 was so nice system, infinitely better than omega 9 RE: Omicrons systems layout re-work. - Echo 7-7 - 12-21-2013 (12-21-2013, 02:49 PM)Sava Wrote: Whatever you think, Echo, .85 Alpha-Eta-Theta route was way better. You can take your attitude elsewhere - I was not responsible for, or involved with, the system layout for 4.87.0. Therefore, any improvement I am offering here is still an improvement, however small it may be. Besides, a simple diagram which is just a proposition - not set in stone - is hardly going to "kill the server". Omicron-81 can be shrunk before we consider deletion. However, my current focus is the Omicrons, not so much the Omegas. It's not problem-free, but the former region requires more immediate attention. The general populace is against the system and everything it sands for. |
