Groups such as the Harvesters and the Hunter Directive do not belong to any faction in particular but are on the same level as other factions and thus require an ID (Since no one else does what they do).
However most AI's are made by corporations or rather are still in use by corporations.

There are many good reasons to surport an AI ID or tag.
Having one would solve some of the confliction problems of playing an AI character, with a tag that 'doesn't quite fit'.
Currently in game, there is no AI ID or tag.
Hopefully, that will change in the future.
