RE: How would you imagine a perfect Freelancer Mod? - Swallow - 05-12-2014 I don't really get good half of the proposed ideas, but I believe that if they are mentioned - they are needed. RE: How would you imagine a perfect Freelancer Mod? - SnakeLancerHaven - 05-12-2014 Discovery + Tides of War + Crossfire mixed = Perfect Freelancer Mod RE: How would you imagine a perfect Freelancer Mod? - .Gypsy. - 05-13-2014 Well, if we are talking realistically, Disco has the best ship by far IMO, nobody has set up capital ships that handle as well as they do in Disco.. that I have seen anyway. So I would use Disco, its setup, ships and systems. I would make the planets like the ones in Freeworlds: Tides of War because they are super cool, you dock right on the planet.. no docking rings! And they have an atmosphere, Ive never seen anything so cool in FL. I would also give snubs the same sense of speed that they have in FTOW as well. Id take allot of the graphics from Crossfire and also use their idea of supergates. I would use the supergates to make connections that are not side by side systems. Id make direct connections in boarder systems of all the houses so you could go from Liberty to Gallia, Gallia to Rheinland etc.. that sort of thing, it would make Disco a much smaller place without deleting any systems. I would make updates allot more often, for example we are on update 6. Minor updates would be 6.1, 6.2 etc.. until update 7 was ready to put out. I would do this because it would allow cool ideas and new ships to be added allot faster and and more playability of new ideas much faster. I would change allot of the SRP requirements to not take nearly as much time as I think for new players that see the time it takes for allot of them, I think it is very off putting. Same with PoB core upgrades, I would remove or shorten the time requirements and base it more on RP. Plus I would add allot more ships, allot more often. The civilian and Boarder World lines would probably have 3 times the ships they do now. And they have an atmosphere, Ive never seen anything so cool in FL. You have forgot something, the features of Tides of War. Stuff like sending NPC Squadrons as a Carrier to attack people and also Tactical Map when you press Shift + Space There are alot more features that are pretty cool stuff like Auto Turret and actually beeing able to show targets inside the Tactical Map and it auto selects it for your Group Members too (people inside your group). As well, Crossfire Graphics and VHF dogfight imo, it's just as a fighter you die fast it's a fact Also I would take the different sectors from Crossfire too y'know, like Sectors outside Sirius which you can reach (stuff with Supergate as you mentioned) to reach places outside the Sirius Map and explore the areas. Also Planet side landings, oh yeas those are awesome some examples: Or allow PoB capital ship construction you know there are blueprints which you can upgrade your Core Base right? So make Blueprints for ships for Official Factions as example the Bretonia Carrier, the model is already in game but they'd have to finish constructing it on their PoB. Not to mention that this feature would be freakin genious for SRP requests EDIT: Yes imagine once you requested SRP ship after that admin gives you the blueprints to build it on your base Once you're done with the resources you take a screen and the Admins will give you the Ship with visual proof (as they'd probably check the base out themselfs if it's realy done) Something like Ship Construction Port, once it's done and admins approved it, it'll get removed and you get the requested Ship RE: How would you imagine a perfect Freelancer Mod? - Omega472 - 05-13-2014 First person planet side landing and battles. That is all. RE: How would you imagine a perfect Freelancer Mod? - aakopa - 05-13-2014 Discovery without Gallia. RE: How would you imagine a perfect Freelancer Mod? - Nerva - 05-13-2014 Discovery with 200+ people online that are not full of ooRP hatred for inRP enemies. That should do it. Everything else is less important (for me). RE: How would you imagine a perfect Freelancer Mod? - Backo - 05-13-2014 One that sends me back to 2009. That includes my mental state as well. It's not that discovery is that shit it's that a lot of us grew out of it. You can't play the same old forever. So ye, I don't blame the mod, I blame the fact I started in 2008 and it's 2014 right now. RE: How would you imagine a perfect Freelancer Mod? - Scumbag - 05-13-2014 I blame the mod. I think bad decisions have slowly eroded the number of people playing. Bad economy, pobs, galia, bad rules and administration, retarded story developments, skype friends and self interest ruling the place. We all know these things but there is no one leading the place anymore no one that has the balls to put a leash on the idiots. When there were leaders the mod was doing fine. So what would make a perfect mod? A lead dev and admin in charge of it. With enough character to admit mistakes, enough wisdom to make the right decisions. And a development and administration team that is impartial and does what is best for the mod and community, not themselves and their friends. I can go on with examples but it would turn into trial by forum and flamefest. But the results speak for themselves and prove me right. Everyone does what they want, they don't care about possible consequences. It's familiar to me. I live in a corrupt state.
