Old steel, please drink bleach and die in a fire. If you cant post constructively, dont post at all.

Now, I would like to consider myself a developer, considering all the models i've done here. Timeline advancement is part of mod development, I dont think this post is entirely out of place.

yea, one of the main problems with 'retconning' character birth dates or specific ages is for people who have based their characters around past events in sirius.

My junker for example - christopher thorn. He was born on nuremburg in munich, and just before the nomad war officially started he lead a militarized rebellion against infected rheinland military units which were trying to experiment on the populace. That occured just before the nomad war, i.e. around 798-800 AS.

Some characters cant be retconned effectively =P I could probably alter Aki Kimura's history since she isnt based on any specific events, but trying to write her personal logs based on current date, and then having things jump a few years ahead, messes it up.

Aye, I just end up writing in whatever timeline I damn wish, and just don't get deeply involved in current events,

Question for Igiss - Linkero - 09-23-2008

I dont think the year has been discussed yet, but if anything it will only go up maybe a year or two if that. I believe the current year is 817, not 816. Refer to this link to find out the timeline so far

Question for Igiss - Linkus - 09-23-2008

A simple solution would be to leave out any ages as Dreygon recomended. However I would go a step further and do not even give a youngster etc statement. Simply allow your character to demonstrate his age through his actions and words. Slipping in his birthdate in a conversation with a Customs officer say, would be a good way to slot it in. Otherwise it seems very..set up.

In terms of timeline, I hope it only advances 1 year. Even then that is far too long in reality. The news reports jump from year to year, clearing showing how lazy the Sirius media are. Moar mini patches I say.

Well relate it to current time. We're almost at the end of 2008, how about we say we're almost at the end of 816 AS as well, and with that one year leap you're really only advancing a few months.
