Arbeiter - Othman - 09-27-2008 Well actually I'm not aiming it to be a heavy ship. And yet I fear it will be a 6/1 instead of 5/1 because of the already placed hardpoints on it. For the hull, making it between 10-11k would be more reasonable. An agility slightly less than the eagle maybe with around or better strafing with a power core of RT could be considered. All in all the person is Igiss who will decide for its stats. The latest texture it has is below. With that at hand, the only thing we now need is a hitbox. If we cant find a custom hitbox designer, we will try to adapt a hitbox from an existing ship. Arbeiter - Othman - 09-27-2008 Right, an update is needed now. We decided to go for 10400 hull, 64/64 bbs with the agility and powercore of an eagle. The gunnery will be composed of 5/1 to balance the overall stats. Hope this helps. Arbeiter - mjolnir - 09-28-2008 Hmm Eagle... Ship handling can be separated into 3 categories: 1. Turning speed (long turn one way) 2. Reactions to changes in direction (most used when dodging fire) 3. Strafing Eagle now has: 1. Great turning speed 2. Great reactions (but the effect when dodging is a bit offset by the large size) 3. Rather average to bad strafing. If you want it to be exactly like the eagle - except for more armor and one less gun... it is possible.. though a bit boring. Arbeiter - Cawdor - 09-28-2008 Yup, remember that the eagle is already on your shiplist, so making a copy of it wont be very satisfying, in the end. Thats why I would rather stick to high armour / 6/1 + lower agility, so you would always have the choice between the light eagle and your rather heavy arbeiter. Eagle will most likely get a small turning nerf if vanilla components are merged... also by the looks of this I would much more like to see it with 12-13k armor, Wrath powercore and agility between Odin and Wrath. Arbeiter - Othman - 09-28-2008 Martin, I changed my mind. Reason is the ship is already designed as 6/1. Making it 5/1 will make it look too weird with 3 guns on one wing and 2 guns on the other. Which will not be so cool to say the least. I now think the same way with you. Around 12600 hull with 70/70 bbs with a wrath powercore and the 3 criterias of the agility, response and strafing somewhere between Odin and Wrath which you would know better would be much more reasonable. The ship will be 6/1 so the way you offer is what I see more valid now. Arbeiter - Othman - 09-29-2008 Update. Our thanks to AoM for the texturing and working hitbox. Now I hope that the balance team will have an eye on it as well and it will be ready without any bugs. Arbeiter - Tic - 09-29-2008 As i told you already, Kress, that ship is 20% smaller then Eagle, it can not have more then 10k armor. Just to compare: Stats: Eagle/Arbeiter Size: 100/80 Hull: 9900/12600 B/B: 63/70 Forward Weaps: 2(9)4(10)/2(9)4(10)+1(5) I agree with Unioners getting a decent fighter, but this is making it uber. It'd be greatly more balanced if you gave it around 9k hull and agility better then Eagles. But if you really want it to stay like this it must be enlargened and have agility of Titan or worse. Also the ship is beautiful. I will surely buy one. |
