RE: disco is rip - FynnMcScrap - 03-18-2015 Oh my... Alley : you are devastating if polite. Well done :-) RE: disco is rip - NOVA-5 - 03-18-2015 Wow, he threw that in like a true pro, what a tosser. RE: disco is rip - lomz - 03-18-2015 In some rare cases, like a static IP that you can somehow trace to a persons identity with google (which is like 0.000000000000001% of IPS, if any at all), keeping the ID logged could be seen as storing personal data. I don't think there is such a disclaimer about the game server like there is for the forum. Nobody signs up for their IP being stored on the game server. Kind of leaves one wondering though. What if someone is using the server as online-pedo-predator, to spread Nazi propaganda, or organizing jihad on your server. The last one is probably not gonna happen, but I've seen borderline stuff like the first two on game servers before. RE: disco is rip - Dimon - 03-18-2015 Can I transfer 100 000 000 Sirius Credits into UAHs pls? Dun wanna stuff to be gone D: RE: disco is rip - Alley - 03-18-2015 (03-18-2015, 07:15 PM)lomz Wrote: In some rare cases, like a static IP that you can somehow trace to a persons identity with google (which is like 0.000000000000001% of IPS, if any at all), keeping the ID logged could be seen as storing personal data. From the moment it isn't stored on our systems it holds no ground. It would be google that they'd have to contact, and not us. RE: disco is rip - lomz - 03-18-2015 Fair enough. What if someone says their real name and address in ingame chat? Arguably his own fault, but would you be obliged to delete it from your logs if he asks for it? It would probably be followed by a permaban though, if done with malicious intent/to troll the admin team. RE: disco is rip - lomz - 03-18-2015 Someone who threatens legal action probably doesn't really care about permabans anyway. The guy is probably just saying it cause he's a douche... but it kind of gets you wondering anyways. RE: disco is rip - Freeroamer - 03-18-2015 So why don't we ban his face off? RE: disco is rip - lomz - 03-18-2015 You can ban an IP, or a computer, or a million IPs and a million computers, but you cant ban a person. |
