Well now, these were a couple of rather interesting days. The old Pelican wreck we salvaged off that time, now dubbed the Advanced Skepticism ended up taking her first flight two days back. I decided to start it slow and bring her down to Colorado at the time, because of some commotion back in New York. I knew that this thing was not as fast as the Dromedary the Hackers sent us, so I decided to play it safe. Needless to say, I ended up having her repaired only yesterday after that fiasco. I suppose I was fully at fault there, really. Two Interspace Storks ended up falling as my first target. Well-armored ones as well and hauling Helium, no doubt bought for pennies from those little miners back in Penny. Anyway, I somehow assumed that, armor aside, they were easy pickings. I mean, why wouldn't they be? It quickly turned out that the reason these two were flying alone was that their escort was in-fact, using a cloaking device. Once I realized they were wasting my time to allow their ship to catch up, I opened fire on the least armored one in hopes of causing some damage as punishment, but in the middle of it all the escort arrived and opened fire on me as well. A Z-Series Montante was not something I could take on and by the time I chewed through the Interspace's armor plating, my own were leaving a nice little line of scrap as we moved around the area. In the end I had to abandon the Advanced Skepticism as soon as the Interspace ship imploded but we quickly salvaged the remains of my ship later on as it drifted into the Copperton Asteroid Field. It seems as though we cannot fully realize the potential of these old ships with the tech we have so far, the powerplant was almost always fully depleted during the fight and it feels like the target could have been taken out much faster if I were using something of our own make. I was more surprised that the Interspace actually valued their shipments enough to engage in such high-class escort services. Might be a problem for us. Interspace - Petrov Interspace - I$C|Gz3r3 Keep an eye out for these two. Message 1/2 RE: Dawson Wing Channel: Current Missions and Reports - Dawson Base - 01-15-2016 Incoming Transmission

Message 2/2 Apart from that, the day was not too eventful. Both me and Ji decided to see what was going on in Colorado and so I took it as an excuse to test-flight the now repaired Advanced Skepticism to see if it still behaved like a brick. And so it indeed did. Luckily enough this time it encountered something other than a gunboat. A Serenity by the name of Hyun_Shik flying freelancer colors, but with an AFC insignia. The fact that those lane racers have a neat little depo somewhere within the Kepler system is no big secret, but it was odd to see supplies delivered to it on an unmarked ship. What caught my interest, however, was a prototype weapon inside of its cargo hold, which I decided would look better on the Skepticism. The person involved did not seem to agree, so both he and his friend - who came on later during the engagement, were quickly proven otherwise. Apart from that it was the standard stuff. I swapped out the Skepticism for the Lover and soon we were both squatting over the lanes in Colorado. As far as what happened...well...just check the communication channel for that one. I admit it was kinda fun to do. Poor little liner. Overall an interesting day and it looks like we have two new faces joining in. Time to go show them the ropes. Got a pretty interesting story for you.
Before that though, I have a few comments on the new ship I got. I gotta say the Hyena was not what I anticipated at all. I expected nothing more than an old rusty pile of junk with a few weapons and a torpedo mounted on it, all barely holding together just enough for the good old piracy. Boy was I wrong. I don't know what our engineers (ha, if they're even called that) did with the ship, but it has to be one of the best ships they modelled. Turning it from a weak fighter to a ship that can mount bomber torpedoes is incredible by itself, and making it one of the best ships in its class is even more surprising. Can't wait to test it out in the following weeks. Anyways, back to the story. I undocked from Buffalo and planned to do some good old piracy at the California gate. As I was passing near West Point, I saw a Freelancer shooting Rogues. Judging by its armor and poor weapon loadout, she appeared as an inexperienced pilot who's trying her luck out here, probably siding with the lawfuls to earn money. I didn't want to be too harsh on her, so I demanded all Rogue pilots she had in her cargo hold and told her to get out of there. Even though she moved to a safe distance from me, she didn't leave. In fact, she kept following me wherever I went - first California gate, then Colorado gate, and as I was on my way to Rochester I finally stopped to have a word. I'm not gonna write the whole story here as I have it taped, which you'll find below. Short version is that she's a freelancer with an incredible story (that still sounds like a pile of crap to me by the way) who isn't welcomed by the lawfuls and has no other place to go, so she turned to our side. At the moment she's at Rochester, and I'm expecting to see her around New York in the future. A warning though - she seems to have "moments" where she snaps and loses self-control. One of those got her in trouble in the first place, so there's no guarantee that this can happen again while we work with her, even though she tried to convince me otherwise. That'd be all, logs below. Attachments: Sending Transmission

Hey, kids. Good news, we have paid back the Hackers for their support in full. This means that we are free to elbow our way out of Hudson with our operations. So far it seems that Colorado and California are the ripest routes for us, so I advise you pay a visit to both Alcatraz and Ames Research Station and get to know the fallback routes and such. Right now most of our little expedition missions consists of yours truly, Ji, Dan and Drake. ZoƩ is still busy on Dawson as far as I am aware, but it looks like our friends Zeke and Mr. Fiddick might have decided to gone off and explore on their own. I am still hoping to get some word from them, because I haven't heard of their ships being found as wrecks, so who knows. Anyway, I will be visiting the bars on both Rochester and Beamont in Texas and see if we can make a few new friends. At this point we are rather short on firepower and seeing though as Zeke and Fiddick were in possession of our Hacker-Leased Barghests, it does not help at all. If it comes to worst, we might need to contact someone about some used ships again, but it should not be as big of a problem as before, the traders we are encountering so far are fat. With that in mind, we might need to try and salvage a few bombers, maybe we can stitch together a few Rocs if needed. Anyway, there seems to be a huge activity boom in the Pennsylvania system, I suggest you go check it out. Ji and I both did yesterday and scored a few crates worth of scrap. Though in general the miners there ain't too talktive. Oh well, not that it matters in the end. Hey there Fred, me and my Where-Wolf went for a nice picnic in New York, but then I met this Police Upholder who told me to stop and "cut my engines", silly cop, how will I cut my engines in the middle of space? He then went and docked on Planet Manhattan for some time. I meet him again fifteen kilometers away from Manhattan, shooting some Rogues! He also hurt my feelings for leaving me alone so I made him meet the death-man. I continue picnicking and then I see a fat ship, a competitor for the Where-Wolf! It was a Police Avenger. She spoke some weird language, saying stuff like "Kon'chiwa" and "Kusri"... oh and "Sempai", I asked her from which Libertonian planet she was born from, but she said shes not Libertonian, I was confused and I think she's a Gaul spy! The Avenger listened to the "High-ranking officer" and wanted to kill me! So I shot first and sent her to death-man. She was very cowardly and was running most of the fight, he-he-he, I like it when people are scared of Phil! Oh! And there was this Police Liberator. I guess he was the "High-ranking officer". but he was very stubborn and I did not like him, so I sent him to death-man too. I called for a junker to sweep up all the scrap that was left behind and told him to send it to our storage. I managed to snag a nice look trader... His ship looked expensive which should give a nice idea what i was in for. But being a typical trader, he was in illegible Idiot. Look at this ship, clearly valuable... Anyway, me and this idiot had a small conversation, if you could call it that, could barely understand him. Based on what occurred i wanted to lug him back to Alcatraz and see what he had, yet things are never that simple. I always get with'em... damn idiots. I made my request to phrase it nicely and i am pretty sure he took me for a fool. Suffice to say my trusty bomber gave him a lesson a wont soon forget. I trust his pod made it back safely anyway... Mission Instructions #004 Looks like the Helium cloud in the Pennsylvania system is getting more and more popular with groups such as Interspace and Samura. No doubt the corporate bigwigs are taking advantage of the cheap labor in the area to get their holds filled. This can be, of course, used to our advantage. Not many Navy patrols enter the system, so pay the lanes a visit and see what sort of goodies can be knocked out of them. Watch out for the Xeno movement though, it seems that they have come to a similar assumption.
Mission Instructions #005 The peeps at Universal Shipping have made it clear that they do not wish to have neighborly ties with us. That is a damn shame, really. Grab a bomber or two and go remind them that flying paper-thin transports and acting mouthy ain't a choice they have. Also, remember that stuff like Ores can be sold off to the nearest freelancer or Junker.
Mission Instructions #006 At this point we must assume that Fiddick and Zeke have found a better hunting ground that what our little group can offer. Which is a damn shame, because they had two of the three Barghests we currently had running. We might need to stock up on bomber components. See if you can salvage something. Or someone.
