An exponentially increasing namechange would be great for another reason, too, That it would be easily available to fresh characters, and then scale to the price of the ship, assuming reasonable growth.

problem with this is for one, the name convention of the BAF. They get a promotion, and poof, namechange. another promotion? poof, another name change. Rising through the ranks will get very expensive very quick

2 million is not much to pay for a name change.
And as far as I'm aware there are plans to make the bounty system follow the name changes.
Its, one of those "to do" things.
I'm for name changing.
