Vmware software is actually pretty okay for it. I would use VFIO like a normal human being but unfortunately my cpu doesn't support vt-d so I gotta stick with Vmware. And I think actually that Vmware supports vt-d virtualization but I haven't checked or really cared about it. Regarding virtualbox and FL: I do know FL has caused timing cheat errors in the past and I would like to know if this still persists and if FLserver is effected, too. Some people managed to get it running through Wine, others through VM. I personally prefer to VM instead of dualboot because rebooting to windows is slow af.
