RE: Hurricane Irma (2017-09) - Felsvar - 09-10-2017

Nice to see someone that lives close by. I live on St. Croix and Hurricane Irma Eye Wall missed us by over 65miles out North, however, the island suffered minimal damage. The Island is about 80% back with power. 20% of the Island is still under power outage due to Power Pole Lines fell on the ground. Good to say that St. Croix was blessed along with the other islands that were not on the way of that Monstrosity weather.

Nevertheless, Barbuda, Antiga, St. Thomas, St. John, Tortola suffered critical damage. Homes were destroyed, 4 found dead (on St. Thomas), Barbuda is 95% destroyed (unhabitable till further notice). It has been announced that St. John residents were evacuated due to the same reason as Barbuda. It's very sad, yet depressing. Sad

Also, the Virgin Island National Guard and the British Marine's are doing the best they can in aiding and supporting the homeless folks that best they can. I am amazed by seeing the British Marines here in the U.S. Virgin Islands working along side with the U.S. Army National Guard - Bravo! (I am a National Guard Soldier too.)

So, again I am thankful and grateful for God's mercy. PLEASE PRAY FOR OUR SOLDIERS AND THOSE THAT ARE IN FLORIDA!

Glad to see you are okay, Sky. We are STRONG! CARIBBEAN STRONG!

Sky, I wish that I could create a Med Force One in RL. I'll have to settle for working on Life Flight helicopters. We mechanics are unsung heroes as the pilots get all the girls, glory and G's.
Anyway, glad that you're OK. My buddy's family is OK too.

Felsvar, I was on St. Croix when I was a kid. I enjoyed my time there. I'm glad you're well also.

Nice to meet a fellow troop. I haven't been alerted but as the Mortuary Affairs NCOIC for the state of Vermont and a staff NCO, they're a bit protective of me for some reason. Looks like all is well though.

Stay safe mate! Hope you take shelter in a timely manner and not too much damage is caused. Sad *hug*
