When I dunno what to watch, I end up here. Watched 90% of them already, most of them really deserve to be there.

How about a more permanent thread about movie recommendations, but with short descriptions and counting number of +1 reviews.
Movies
-Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Unusually good Kung Foo movie, even for people who don't like Kung Foo)
-Tampopo (Japanese Zen Noodle Soup Movie)
-The Big Lebowski (Hilarious Zen movie about life and stuff)
-True Grit (Western that may make you more tolerant of Republicans)
-Life of Pi (Indian about life in a raft with a tiger and stuff)
-Night of the Living Dead (the black and white classic is freely available on the web because the low-budget producers didnt bother to copyright it)
-Evil Dead 2 (Funny horror shocker)
Series
-The Walking Dead (awesome zombie apocalypse series also for people who dont like zombies)
-Homeland (nutty CIA agent series)
-Longmire (If you like Cowbows. With Kara Thrace from BSG. Skip the episode about the bear)
-Wrecked (pretty funny low budget Lost spoof)
Anime (no-pedo, at least not too much):
-Akira (a groundbreaking classic)
-Cowboy Bebop (cheesy but cool, fits well into Freelancer Universe)

Yes most of them are excelent, especially classics.
Few newish ones that get on the list who knows how are boring drama garbage tough.
