Perhaps you are treated like a noob because you act like a noob. it doesn't really matter how old are you, whatever you do in your real life, where you live or how long you've been playing vanilla Freelancer whether in SP or on other servers - and frankly I don't think anybody cares about these much -, you obviously don't know what you are doing. The several flaws I could point out in your "background story" are just a few examples.

Every game and gaming community is different, Discovery isn't an exception either. Starting guides and basically the entirety of the Tutorial section is to help folks like yourself to get started and learn how things roll in here the easier way, linking the above tutorial was to help you in that too. But we can only help people who are open to criticism and are willing to learn first instead of dictating their own rules. As a 26 year old person I'm pretty sure you should already be aware of that not working anywhere.

So you can either change your attitude, be more open and listen, learn how Disco works, and your career here may become a lot smoother, or keep staying on the high horse, and you'll learn things the significantly harder way. I myself did chose the first option six years ago and I'm pretty sure I would have regret deciding otherwise. I wish you wisdom in your choice.

I think your definition of help is closer to "RTFM"

Even a "poor" attempt at RP is at least an attempt at RP which is better than the alternate, the blindly shooting everything in sight noobs of old times.

You can't be left alone, this is an rp server. The point of it is interaction, in whatever form that involves. Ignorance coupled with arrogance won't get you anywhere.
For your own sake, please grow some humility and ask someone to explain how this server works to you, we do need the new blood but we have enough problems.

"Poor RP" is one thing, this is just going to break the entirety of whatever canon the server seemingly has left. So you can say whatever makes you feel good about yourself, but I'm gonna call this as it is. This is something that needs to stop. Doing something badly is worse than not doing it at all, why? You make a mess, that's why.
Nobody's going to have any reason to run you down if you exercise your intellect and actually learn how the server works. I strongly recommend you do that before this goes down the drain faster than that damn EVE import of the Goon Squad did.
