Discovery is just a community of amateurs, no one is a big-gaming-company developer or programmer here, so don't expect balance devs to be somewhat of MMO-level balance devs or whatever.
But more people should be on the balance team imo. Feel like there's totalitarianism going on over there, one absolute ideology, that denies the voice(s), ideas, and suggestions of the lower echelons.

I am serious, I want my STARKILLERs back. Sidewinders while easier and faster aren't the same thing as they are fired way differently and it's hardly the torpedo style that I grew to low long ago. I want my torps back.

Several things had been rewritten, because chunk of guys took a wrong impression about what and why I wrote such a thing in the first place. This thread is not meant to troll, but to point out my point of view based on experiences on Discovery between 2008 to 2017.
I won't lie when I openly state that old cerb Removal somewhat hampered my activity in early (whatever year cerb was removed) and after it. But it never was the only reason for that to me, leading into this point today. What more impacted me was lack of any balance and more and more broken additions within the entire Discovery Freelancer that seem to be either stupid or just to prove point that Balance Devs are not capable to offer anything balanced. At all. Someone once said that my pvp top the doings of the several-people Balance Deving, someone even stating that my idea to increase cerb range but also increase their damage value has way more logical background than overall Discovery's pvp balance, full of inconsistencies that had not been removed for a long time - not to mention the lack of communication between the Team and Playerbase which though time led into players leaving Discovery. And do not get me wrong, through these five years I have seen a lot of ups and downs of the community and I can say that certain "you" drag the whole thing down.
I am disappointed by the stance of Balance Team, which had bent - two times - to the most loud community members, which warned the Discovery admins and devs if they won't do one thing, they will ruin the Discovery. I am disappointed because you people ridiculed a long-lasting member, @everyLNScerbdread, who received a harsh sea of treatment and abuse after he/she/it/apachehelicopter was unable to express himself with his unique pvp style anymore. He/she/it/apachehelicopter lost 7 years just with one decision that was heavily unnecessary and took away He/she/it/apachehelicopter encouragement to do pvp at all. The answer that "your pvp style doesn't matter if it gets removed anyway" is not something worthy of someone with position in the Team.
That, actually, was the laziest attempt to convince someone out of going his or her style, just because someone feared that "influential" community members threaned the well-being of Discovery as the community. But that does not apply only to us, LNSnoobs and I, who got slapped because some chickenbrains decided it would be nice to gangbang on - in my case, way before I even followed the LNS way and my several years long pvp style of going to 200m and cerbing pepole has been wasted. Myself, being drove into loss of self-esteem in a blind act of revenge against me after I got falsely accused to ruin someone's pvp enjoyment. Note I am not speaking about cerbshere, but about the pvp I had been conducting since 2010 until someone ruined my fun from pvp'ing them over the most disastrous week. Hadn't it happened, we would not be having this thread.
I had a trusted person who kept me supplied with enough feedback from certain chats to make a basis of my final statement in all this mess which, as I stated already, leads this place into doom. You may not see it yet, but heed my words when the crap hits the fan sooner than later. I dare to say that. This is not the boat many of us would like to see sunk, but you all are on a good way. The good guys left, leaving some being immature pricks with false sense of power.
You all destroyed this place with your puny balance powerplays. And seeing that harm had been already done beyond point of healing, just by glancing on how you are digging it yourself.

Shame Vasko. Stay around, maybe you see changes enough, soon enough, to come back.
And the "balance talks" ive already given up, with all the "git gut" around and seemingly always all efforts put into direction in refining game to focus on a specific player style, nothing else. Its relieving to see that a well know good pvper too thinks things are going down and needing be fixed asap.
Some actions appeared, stay tuned, maybe enough can be seen to convince you to be around again!

Expand that towards how the community is being run and forcing players to change themselves as well or be defaced by harsh criticism that we'd never allow before. That's not the Disco I signed up to have fun with years ago.

People who aren't that into the pvp elitism game tell me I'm joking and laugh that me of all people suggest return of torpedoes.
People who are the pvp elitists tell me to get good and use mini razor instead or guns only.
Literally nobody actually cares that I found enjoyment in torpedoes for their own style and the way they were used in snub pvp. I don't need them to be overpowered and broken, I just wish they still existed so I could use them still. I'd gladly replace my sidewinder/paralyzer with a torpedo even though I'd know I'm putting a harder to use weapon with less actual impact (current Sidewinder hull damage is nearly the same as the removed Starkiller's damage but it's a few hundred meters per second faster).
