Ehe.
For the record, what happened yesterday wasn't exactly what I was envisioning. It was pretty fun and way better than the nomad PVE events though, and the H3 as reward was great.
I named the thing king of the hill, but that's maybe not the proper way to brand it.

The idea was to have a pob, ideally admin managed, that people could claim for a short duration after having succeeded at something event related. Now since everyone is running after shiny trinkets, the pob could contain unique resources, or unique facilities to produce unique guns or whatever, like Chrysalis said, so that it can durably improve the activity in an area and make people log traders / pirates / police / whatever.
Succeeding at an event should also not always be pvp oriented, ideally.

So to give an example :

- 1) PVP event between Corsairs and Outcasts
The winning side can claim said pob and use it until next cyclic event occurs or a grace delay is over.
- 2) Two weeks later, smuggling event : 50k zoner marines must be dropped at the pob. If smugglers succeed, the base is claimed by zoners, who can use it for a while.
- 3) One week later, PVP event between Zoners and Liberty Police. The winning side claims the base.
- Etc etc, rinse and repeat.

Also a note on events rewards. Spawning stuff in spess so that the luckiest can tractor it is fine and dandy, but what about that poor cap pilot who spent hours shooting at things and gets nothing? What about the losing side getting nothing?
That can be a bit demotivating sometimes. Perhaps participation rewards could be handled? Perhaps that could be an official faction perk : to be guaranteed at least something for participating to an event?
