There are combat and flight categories that those could go under. As for the TCD i dont know what that is and it's not in the wiki glossary (hint hint) but it could probably go in the TCD article.

Good call. I changed the example to point to Planet Manhattan for now. I'm gonna change the page later when I have time.

Completely off topic, unrelated, and just darn superfluous, but don't you think we should have a Wiki logo by now?

The Wiki - NerdRage - 02-05-2009

i dont think there is enough info on the wiki,
many factions are missing lots of info and there has to be at least one page-per system

if i were granted the ability to make pages i would, i dont know how to get into the editing screen,

and i think the GMG pic be replaced with the logo

(PS, kudos for Blodo (i think) for making logos for all the rhineland companies, they look really good)

There's this tab at the top of the page that says "edit". I can't fault you though, I couldn't find the upload button.

You need to sign up (and register if you have not done it already) for wiki before the "edit" button comes available.

Come and join the ever expanding wiki editors list.

@Kambei: There is TCD now.

EDIT: I see you there Nerdrage. Welcome. Please use http://discoveryfl.com/wiki/index.php?title=Newark_Station for template when adding the bases.

Also I recommend all to get Freelancer DataStorm so you can fill out the Base's text etc. very neatly. Adding Bases is more or less like copy-paste job.

EDIT2: I changed the Planet template in Style Guide to be of Planet Manhattan.

1. No
The Wiki thing could be very useful for:
RP stories research
Faction proposals
Modding tutorials
Ship submissions etc etc.

The more we dump on Wiki's server, the less bandwidth disco has to host.

2. Yes
histories of houses, corporations, factions.
To be able to read up on the past events of disco would be very useful for new players. We have the vanilla canon, the disco canon, but also there are hostilities between factions that may or may not be fully explained.
Treaties and declarations of war would be good thing to see there too.

3. Yes
Even though wiki is open to all to contribute, it does not seem right that an indy should be able to amend the faction information about an official faction. We should apply the same regulations to the wiki as we observe here on the forums. I'm aware that this may come across as a 'Sandbox' mentality, but if you've paid $1bn for the sandbox, and have seen your rights over that sandbox steadily whittled away, to have someone who is able to influence - without moderation - something you traded and worked hard to acheive runs counter to what is proper.

Finally, boosting the content of wiki regularly will attract new players to the community.

The Wiki - tazuras - 02-05-2009

For the most part I couldn't agree more coin. As for moderation the wiki is moderated, and appears to be moderated fairly well, doesn't need much cause there aren't a lot of contributors. What's great about the wiki is if someone does amend it improperly a moderator (or maybe any registered user?) can revert it instantly. Anyway, someone who will make mistakes posting faction data isn't very likely to be posting, in this community most people seem to recognize their place, at least in my experience.
