RE: De-Re-Naming - L e o n - 06-09-2020

Can't we just stick with the original one?
Cause changing it will cause a lot of confusion between players and also it will be needed to change in discovery nav map.
In addition, I don't think Edinburgh sounds very appealing..
not to mention Aquitaine is a french system and Edinburgh is british

Eh, as long as someone makes sure the online NavMap is kept up to date, I'm fine with whatever.

Forgo to add: S-15 -> Lunenburg.

Thanks to Mep.

Sigma-15 is a Sigma in name only. I remember when it was discussed, and it was proposed as being a new system in the Sigmas for factions to explore and conquest. Upon reveal, all things of note are colonized and the whole system is filled with Rheinland lawful bases.

You can have it in the format of "Original name" ("Occupier's name").... For example, Edinburgh (Aquitaine), or Planet Gaia (Bordeaux)

Then people can RP and use whichever name as it see fit. The Bretonians can always refer to their new system as Nottingham and IMG / RHA will always refers it as Omega 3 not recognising their authority etc.

I tried experimenting with something in a similar vein, and it was less than perfect. It is possible to rename the planet to ... Anything, and still keep individual docking ring/atmospheric entry points as their respective factions given name, but it is ugly, and confusing.

Tau-53 used to be Rishiri.

RE: De-Re-Naming - WesternPeregrine - 06-09-2020

Original names on map and system solars, alternative names mentioned only in infocards please. Thank you very much.

RE: De-Re-Naming - Czechmate - 06-09-2020

Aquitaine -> Edinburgh
Exeter -> O-49
Nottingham -> O-3
Brittany -> Orkney
Planet Exeter -> Gran Canaria
Planet Bordeaux -> Planet Gaia
Planet Nottingham -> Planet Sprague
Planet Bayonne -> Planet Ayr
Planet Pau -> Planet Glenn
Planet Anaheim -> Planet California Minor

This is what I'd want
not bolded
I've never been to

Speaking of, Omicron names should be reverted back to numbers. For example:

Omicron Phi > Omicron-85
Omicron Psi > Omicron-99
