Its simply a fun and enticing concept (to prospective players) who havent been here yet to pick up the bad habits of those who try to stop other players from doing...anything that works against them. Most people don't get like that until they pick it up from existing players. first, that's called learning curve. second. Take something OP Make it hard to get Less good players get them and it's hard to balance and could be more OP than intended if it was intended to be a certain level of OP. Now give a single good or great player that OP thing. Suddenly that one player owns the entire server and regardless of others having said OP thing they still die because they're objectively worse than the better player at that point in time. We had similar with code weapons with them being harder to balance since not everyone had them and so it was hard to see their full potential and I'd argue it still is to this day even if they're purchasable with credits they're still hella expensive. This is just that but as haste said. One button? That isn't fun that's just a lmao chat goes blue griefer button if you want to one shot everyone. To wound them I'd be semi okay with. Maybe wound all battleships by about 15% hp or 20% at an extreme. This gives them a fighting chance and simply makes tanking riskier forcing them to react in a different way than just crazily push. You're able to make your own decisions about what's fair and other than numbers I will tell you EK'ing is fair as a tactic and helps to merge snubs with capital ships in fleet fights and gives snubs something to do other than fighting the vets they oh so complain about. It's weird how you can hate both good players and capital ships at the same time. It's so dishonourable to hug a cap but the thing is a dedicated CD'er shouldn't be putting them selves at risk if they know their opponent is better than them. The mind sets are often just plagued with ego. The only valid claim is that caps throwing them selves into snub swarms is annoying for everyone involved and if anything I still like the idea that fighters should be somehow more involved in capital ship fights which was discussed not so long ago. It's boring for the ones dying and gives them less reason to even log in if they know they're going to be unfairly annihilated. How would you like it if it happened to you. What if there was a snub only nemp that was used on your dog fights lmao that would be horrendous better luck next fight. because your current one is over. in seconds. And it isn't always 30 minutes as it isn't always in PVP systems where these fights take place. I used to really enjoy the long incursions into enemy space. It was fun to play chicken a little and just fly about. (12-19-2020, 10:28 PM)sindroms Wrote: Flagships. We're currently discussing an excuse to get rid of the Pendragon as the BAF flag ship so this could perhaps help us with that. It should have been the Titan from back in 2017 but ah well. I think the only logical and useful situation i've ever seen it was the final days of the outcast VS Crayter during the siege of helios.one of the reasons it got disabled because there was a person which would Ddos the server with nemp spamming attacks in conneticut and other places Not to mention it also dropped a lot of frames to everyone, too. People cannot be trusted to use superweapons for logical and fun reasons because a lot of the time people want to fuck someone over. Even if it was to be "Considered" you're better off leaving that idea to the event team because for special events, i'm sure they'd come up with a neat idea for it. But unfortunately, No. General public use is a stupid idea and just creates headaches. RE: Super-weapons(?) - Arcana - 12-21-2020 Binski has a point for weapons, super or not, we need more diversity, i mean i go to ship dealer and i buy a primary for a battleship, all i can choose is 2 heavies and 1 pulse and all the of them are the same for every faction instead of energy and damage per shot. Then i save money for codes cause there is nothing else to fill the slots. If i play a game and i got 2 weapons the entire time sooner or later i will get bored. This is for the ships too, why delete old model because of a new one as you can keep both (yes you will say cause its low graphic etc) as the player may want to buy the old one instead of the new one. |
