Event Outcome.
While the combined escort of Order and LIA vessels were taken by surprise by the attacking Nomads, the defending forces were able to mount a swift counter attack.
Wave after wave of Nomad reinforcements crashed against the Human vessels, slowly wittling away at their numbers. In the end however, the escort succesfully managed to fight them off, protecting the Daedalus as it completed its work.
After taking a brief moment of silence to pay respect to the fallen, the Daedalus and her escort pulled out of the system.
Little did they know that all they had done was push back a scout swarm; an act that caught the attention of the force behind them which was now hot on the Daedalus' trail.
Event Score.
Defenders:
- Defeat the most enemies. 4 points (as counted by how many waves won, not individual kills). - 4 points earned.
- Hold off the final wave so the science vessel can succesfully complete its scans (4 minutes, starting in the final wave). 2 points. - 2 points earned.
Attackers:
- Defeat the most enemies. 4 points (as counted by how many waves won, not individual kills). - 0 points earned.

Defenders: 6 points.
Attackers : 0 points.
Victory goes to the defenders.
Kudos to @diamond1 for covering the event on stream, as well as all the players that participated.
In particular the Nomad players that stuck around despite the imbalance as people were leaving mid-event.

Thank you for everyone who took part. The event while far from perfect served its purpose well enough as a test bed. We'll make sure to polish out the rough bits so that its not one sided. The debrief on discord was very helpful and your points have been noted. The follow up event will hopefully be better.
