---" It kind of does by extending mining time and thus increasing price but that's it" ---- You just brought up the biggest concern with this new mining system -- "time". I understand that someone doesn't have a job, a wife, children, or any life at all and can spend 24/7 playing video games. And just because people don't bother to write doesn't mean there are only "a few". I agree with Ramke that the new system develops more team play, but that's also the only good thing about this thing. But considering our already small player base, it will eventually lead to taking Hege and doing it alone. And with this whole "new mining system" I see that the bases are empty of mining products half the time. It was supposed to be fun and somehow it doesn't seem to be.

The game was balanced already before, it does not need this.

For some credentials, I had run many mining ops on Core/APM with Iridium/Azurite and JM with Scrap/PScrap back in the day. I had been away for about 4 years until last week and I'll admit at first numing was hard to grapple with and understand but thanks to fantastic help from people like @Enko I've managed to wrap my head around it and can vouch it's superior to the old style of mining.

Change can be scary but sometimes it really is for the better. I can't speak for all commodities but from my perspective if numining is introduced everywhere it will be a net benefit. It turns mining into a much more interactive and far more communal experience.

My question to you is, what exactly about it do you not like? I also see a lot of complaining but not really much expansion as to why it's bad.

The developers can just adjust csu as appropriate. In terms of time, there's ultimately not really much difference between this and what we had before. I guess maybe at worst there's a skill issue with how efficient people might be at it lol? Otherwise it really doesn't feel that taxing in terms of time to me and feels just as good if not more at producing activity than the old system.

The "rightclick" mining was seen as necessary in the game, only to develop characters.

Time in the field does not mean that it makes you take longer time to get money. Mining in NuMining is actually the single most profitable gameplay loop in the game right now, and if you do it in say the Archon you can do a single trip that takes like 8-9 minutes total, or a Hegemon takes 18 minutes. This is not a lot of time, and solo mining is far easier to do in NuMining as well.

There is about 50-80k gold ore that comes from Dublin every day for the past week or two, Heavy Water filled up the pob super fast in Penny and Plat does sell quite quickly too. Where are the places that use numining that have no product? There was 150,0000 Deuterium last night in Penny, 60,000 plat between two bases I checked and Gold between Coleraine, Fortitudine and Connact is literally throwing out 100,000 gold a day or more.

These new changes actually benefit lower time, quick operations.

Skill issue, aight, lets meet in gold field, you show me how you mine 5k ore in 4-5 minutes. and i will say it is skill issue or you have just big mouth. And yes, I'm still unfamiliar with this new system , did learn something but not good at it.

Are you really saying that getting multiple players together at the same time for a group mining op -- which was really the only way in which the old system is quicker than the new -- is easier for busy adults than an 8 (Archon) to 20 (Hegemon) minute round trip in a "NuMining" field? I would argue the new system is much friendlier to a quick mining session. You can do a run or two and be done in less than 45 minutes, or even under 20 minutes if you're using an Archon. At the same time, if you do want a group operation you can still do so and it's still worth doing.

RE: Economy in 5.2+ - Ramke - 11-23-2024

Before we head off into fighting each other in this thread (the conversation isn't about NuMining technically - it's about the economy), I would recommend everyone to offer constructive suggestions on what to alter, or ideas on how to improve.

There's nothing to be gained from saying "skill issue lol" or getting ego in the way.

Some people like the old system, some people like the new system. It's changing so naturally there'll be friction. Just communicate what you'd want to see changed economy wise, and offer suggestions on how to do it.

I'm saying that old way is a LOT faster than new way. But may by it is just skill issue , but I haven't seen any Hege that fills itself up in 4-5 minutes in goldfield. To mine Iridium it takes what. some 4 min to fill Hege, Copper will take some 5-6 min.

Well, a full cargo was 8 minutes before. Could you answer my question ? Why change a good and balanced system ?
