And yes, normal players can do that, but the server police would be trusted, and know the rules for sure. Sometimes people don't want to listen to someone they've been fighting for a long time/or they think is wrong.

What about temporarily assigning moderator or admin positions?

It's always been my opinion that the Moderator job and the Admin job are two very different ones and the people who are chosen for each are chosen based on being suited for the specific job. I dont think we should be "testing" mods as admins unless it is felt they will excel at the job, because other wise, we just end up with them leaving and then not only not getting a new admin, but also losing a moderator.
