Rules Clarification - Kane - 03-20-2007 This kinda thing is why I preffer my own method of fighting; One Life to Live. In battle, you only get one life. If your ship is destroyed, your ship is destroyed. Makes more sence, easier to write after-action reports, realistic... I could go on. Some day soon, you might see me make it publicly known that I, personally, will play by the 1 Death Rule. I would appreciate it if others would do the same, at least when fighting me. Rules Clarification - ghostcat - 03-20-2007 I rather like the 1 death rule. Killing a BS once can be challanging, but three times? Ugh. Oh, and what happened to the no bot + bat rule? Rules Clarification - Deimenried - 03-20-2007 I would be in favour of the one-death rule. If we're going to roleplay our actions on others reallistically we may as well roleplay the actions done to us reallistically Rules Clarification - pchwang - 03-20-2007 I'll do the 1-death rule anyday. Hmmm, so far the only skirmishes I have been in, everyone has used bots/bats, the exception to the rule being 'organized' PvP's in Conneticut. Personally, if I have bots/bats on my ship and I am attacked, I use them, unless it's been agreed *before* fighting not to. In an RP situation, you use whatever you have available to you, if you have bots/bats, you use them, if you don't, it's tough luck. Kinda like being attacked by someone and firing back on them with a mini-razor and being told 'you can't use that!' you would laugh and shoot them with it again. RP is an interesting thing...... the number of times I see people 'suicide' after a skirmish to avoid having to 'pay for repairs' is interesting, when technically if their ship is damaged in a PvP fight it would be *good* RP to dock and pay for repairs.... Rules Clarification - pchwang - 03-20-2007 Well, I always use bots/bats. It is part of FL fighting strategy to find out when and where you used bots and bats. Rules Clarification - OsoRojo - 03-20-2007 1 death would be realisitc, but allow player to bring, if they have it, 3 ships into a fight. Seems like a nice compromise. Kane, you spoke the exact words as if you were reading my mind. Rules Clarification - DBoy1612 - 03-20-2007 ' Wrote:This kinda thing is why I preffer my own method of fighting; One Life to Live. Osorojo Wrote:1 death would be realisitc, but allow player to bring, if they have it, 3 ships into a fight. Seems like a nice compromise. Kane makes a very good point. I agree with him too. But I do aswell with Osorojo. When your ship is destroyed, it's destroyed. Gone for the fight. But having another ship there makes sense. If you like to involve "clones" in your RolePlay. Rules Clarification - Dab - 03-20-2007 About the bots and batts.. I believe they are completely okay in any fight except arranged duels where its agreed upon beforehand. If its a faction battle, I think it would be stupid NOT to use bots and batts. Now if someone brought in, say a liner, just to give bots/batts to the players fighting, that would be a gross abuse of bot/batt privileges. I've seen it happen before and it completely ruins the fight. |
