I find it exceedingly curious - Govedo13 - 11-24-2009

Hawk see what was written by Andre DelArco:

Since, you know, a Miner is someone who Mines (not someone who pirates), while a Pirate is someone who pirates?

In my post you cannot find any complaining about being pirated or so.
The idea is that miner pirates are lawful pirates so they are not hunted from the hunters or the police if they don't pirating, the act of pirating as itself is rather short moment of their playing time, that is my problem, and the 4 hour rule don't concern them much as transport ships. They can legally come back and mine when they get busted. You will say that they must leave the system what about if the act of pirating is not made in Pennsylvania ? They come and mine together with the non-pirating miners.

first i was what the hell? than i thought better and got the point. This is supposed to be a group effort, get into a coorporation, hire escorts, protect your fields. Think of the gold race on the XIX century, miners would kill miners, still their fields and ore.

Now, we on Rheinland are starting to do things differently, we are trying to protect each other backs, we still get robbed, we still get pirated, but we at least give them a fight, and thats fun. I sometimes want to be pirate. Mining gives lots of credits, so spred the money, and have fun.

Peace

Edit: just a question regarding the killing in a PvP, if a pirate/miner gets killed what happens to him? does the rule applies? does he need to leave or has he have a transport not applies to him?

first this is fellow miner after that try to rob you? It it a little bit confusing and take the pirate job.It duplicates the Pirate ID and in RP the Pirate Miner must not be able to dock on Naritta. The Pirates must hire freelancer transporter or merc transporter both with max 3800 cargo to be able to sell the ore because they cannot dock on the stations. Its soo easy -we will take 2 miner ided bombers and one transporter and will camp near Naritta. If somebody kill a mining Pirate he just change the name and he come to mine near the guys that he tried to rob earlyer. After a few days somebody will start threats like this one-
http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?sh...amp;hl=miner+id

Mining must be a team effort, so pirating miners too, if the pirates don't have transporter with them, they cannot make big profit ,and the whole thing looks like mine whoring to me. The pirates/miners change their names every day first you mine together on the next day the same guy robs you...
it sucks big time

Edit:
Right now in Pennsylvania are no normal miners only 4 mining ided mining pirates

Well, sir, I have a page for you. Hire one.

If mining becomes a team sport hostile takeovers become a team sport. That's just how it goes. If the miners get escorts, then pirates have to get escorts, instead of just coming with transports. It becomes harder to kill you and go because if we kill you we likely explode. So, to circumvent this, we have to bring a fighter along to take your bomber and drain its plant.

Let me tell you a story. One time there were six pirate miners. They came to Tremont to see an LSF there. We decided it would be better if we waited for him to leave. He left, but following him was two USI bomber escorts. What did we scream on the chat? It was along the lines of "CRAP! Everyone shoot rocks!". So, we pretended to mine for about half an hour. I then went to bed and I didn't pirate anyone. If we had time, I'd tell it again.

' Wrote:I think the saddest thing I have ever heard was what one guy told me last night. "I have mined for 2 nights and haven't made a credit because of pirates." (As I was pirating him)

I have to say, I find that to be the saddest thing I ever encountered as well. Did it ever occur to anyone to simply take Silver to Kensington, or, heaven forbid, take half an hour to move your ship and mine something else? Sometimes, I swear...

Man, wise words. Wise beard man, even. I have to say, I have tried to pirate your miners, and I was sorely disappointed. It ended quite sadly for me. Ya'll in Omega-7 have the right mindset.

Rarely get pirates in the Taus, thank God. Even if we did, there's enough IMG fighters in the area to hire.

Woot for Powermining, Inc.

Where? Where are these IMG fighters, and why can I never find them?

I've been mining scrap at a nice spot I found and over the course of four days doing so, I have run into a grand total of One other ship.

Not even a pirate, but a lone ALG transport who kindly beat feet when I informed him that he was in fact mining in my spot. Of course, my Salvage Frigate wasn't fully loaded out with mining lasers like he was may have helped convince him..

Pennsylvania isn't the only place to mine, nor is there only one place to drop off your cargo. If Ore jackers are annoying you, move somewhere else.

It doesn't annoy me that they do it to me (cause they don't. Only times I really get pirated are an Outcast looking for PvP), it annoys me that they do, when they shouldn't. It's a Miner ID, not a Red Hessian ID. Other civilians can't pirate, why can they?

I find it exceedingly curious - Drake - 11-25-2009

I have in the past asked why Miner IDs can pirate for ore when Indie Trader IDs can't pirate for cargo. It's the same thing.

I find it exceedingly curious - DarthCloakedGuy - 11-25-2009

Yeah... what Drake said.

Well written, sir. I had not even considered traders in this. Or Smugglers.

Other civilians can:

Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing
Daumann Heavy Construction
Kruger Minerals
Independent Miner's Guild
Deep Space Engineering
Ageira Technologies

It's called corruption, dirty deals, and turf wars.

EDIT:

But wait, there's more!

Gas Miner's Guild
Republican Shipping
