Average pirate demand amount? Noticing a pattern here... - Exsiled_one - 12-11-2009 Change the route. I mean seriously, it's like all the bad things in sirius happen only to you. I never encountered so much issues. But I did manage to run into an great situation today. I stopped a bumblebee 15k from Narita full of ore. I told him to cut down his engines and obey, and that if he calls for help, he'll die. He said nothing and I left him at 1% hull. Then i asked him to stop again and he did. His buddy in another bumblebee was empty and came near him. The guy with ore said he is new and he needs a moment before he drops third of his ore. I kept my close eye on his radar, because I knew what will happen next. He traded the ore to his friend. Then they both died. And next time I see them, I'll probably ask for their whole cargo. Forever. Its a neat way to make new friends Average pirate demand amount? Next 5k transport that complains about my prices will find that my fines have increased. Just a general warning. ;) Also, I find it funny when miners see me coming and just cruise straight up so they don't have to pay. If they just paid me the 1 million once, it would probably save them money since they don't have to waste time flying back from 150k above the plane. It's not like I don't stick around the minefield waiting for them. Also, the most I've ever BEEN pirated for was 2 million. I only have a 3k cargo though, so maybe that's why. Noticing a pattern here... - Tenacity - 12-11-2009 As far as I'm concerned, unless the pirate belongs to a terrorist faction, demanding any more than 2 million credits is absurd. Trade routes are not nearly as profitable as they used to be, and in most cases the pirate is taking most, if not all, of the profit that the trader would make with his cargo. For terrorist type factions like the xenos, you dont care about money, you have an ulterior motive, and thus you want to stop that trader from making any money, through the demand and destruction of all cargo. However, there are few factions which deserve that right. The problem I see nowdays is that pirates want to make as much money as traders or miners, without doing any of the work. That attitude needs to be done away with. Average pirate demand amount? Noticing a pattern here... - Exsiled_one - 12-11-2009 i pirated about 3k ore today in 30minutes, and 1500 optical chips. 33mil roughly and I'm not ashamed at all Average pirate demand amount? I undocked from Leeds on my Planetform| percheron, and a Gaian gunboat dropped out of the lane, demanded two million, and started shooting. I absolutely love Battleship Derby. It killed him within three seconds. That aside, if you demand something over five million from a non-ore transport, you're doin' eet wrong. Average pirate demand amount? As for cargo ... NPC's ask for 100% ... why ask for less? EDIT: Unless you know of a way to change the amount of cargo the NPC's demand. Average pirate demand amount? I know I would be uber-pissed if I was doing my trading run and a pirate made me drop all my cargo. Average pirate demand amount? So around 6 million credits worth. That is the only time i have been cargo pirated. I usually try to talk my way out of it, or talk them down but I don't try to run. Usually though the pirates are reasonable, between 1 and 3 mil |
