Use of Capital Ships - Linkus - 01-07-2010
If you want to make the balance between Bombers and Capitals seem a little more real.
Consider each bomber as a small squadron of them, led by yourself.
If you really want to do that mod wise, you can throw 3 ship models into one and essentially fly 3 ships at once..as one ship.
It works quite well actually.

to all of you bomber-lovers whining that battleships should run from 2 bombers... Consider that RP wise they are the most destructive weapon in Humanity's arsenal. it is the meanest ship in the skies. Bombers can already solo everything cruisers and down, with skill. Balancing against lolwuts is about as effective as a screen door on a submarine.
And there are FAR more lolwuts flying bombers than battleships. Why? becuase bombers can pirate. 1 bomber can make mincemeat out of all but the most armed transports, namely the shire. 2 of them? roast any transport. Guys, as much as its fun, keep in mind there ARE OTHER PEOPLE who play those other ships. There is no justification of making the other ships as useless as urinating on a tank. None, At. ALL.
So before you complain "battleships are over powered" Take a good long look. Your flying a fighter sized ship with a unblockable gun that doesent use ammo and has a 2k range... and does almost CRUISER lm damage. Sorry, guys in the bombers, but your not the damn king of the battlefeild RP wise. and PVPwise, you should not be either. Bombers can currently be used to take on ANYTHING. from piracy to battleship swarming. You want to limit the fun of players in caps? Time for YOUR fun to be cut down too. It would be a nice change of pace.

Minor..... well, lets do a little BH raid in there and you'll quickly find a 10-15 gebs/osirises after you, ofcourse, their indies....
Not all people in player factions (I refuse to call them 'indies') have caps, not all caps belong to people not in player factions, and not all people player factionless with caps are bad RPers

Holy crap where did that come from? A+. I agree tottaly, and that is rare with this failed community lately.

Stop stereotyping. Not all indi caps are bad. The bad ones need official factionites to help them. The good ones need no official factions... Ironic, right?
Official factions have many disadvantages, as ive said before. Player factions are usually biased against indies, not just capitals either. This is only true of SOME officials. The RM is exemplary in their tenacity and willing to help the indies that are in their space, and I aplaud them for that.

Funny, i half expected my post to be modded the crap out of. Anyway, cam. He means that basicaly, Independant =/= lolwut, but lolwut CAN = independant.
Aside from that, you want to know why there are so many caps out in the crons? *looks at nomad and bhg swarms who cd you every 5 seconds* oh wait.
