There are ships out there that actually have that mystique about them..
Spyglass, I have seen once. Once. And it still holds the awe of the name.
Gallic Royal Battleship, never seen one. And I have been in Gallia.
SCRA cruiser. I see this one, but then I caretake one of them and am working on the design team for the new one. But still most have never seen one in game because in our lore they really are rare.
Liberty Carrier, I fought one once... Trying to keep it off of a group of fighters... dear gods what a beast. I couldn't imagine that spammed like a Geb...
Nomad Battleship... I know of one and it is whispered about on the Server. I was in the system with it once, and I knew to get my little Soc out of the system as fast as I could.
There are many ships that are rare, or non-popular. But that adds to the charm of the mod... They don't have to be SRP, but they can be unique, hard to find and worth the Discovery.
It isn't just about what I fly... but it's about discovering that ship in the nebula and not knowing what it is. Of the RP that comes with that.

To be honest, if we SRP it, it comes with advantages, and disadvantages.
If we leave it the way it is, it comes with advantages, and disadvantages.
But one thing crossed my mind, if we SRP it, we might as well nerf it, and I'm a bit sick of all the nerfing.
So no, leave it the way it is.

Let's not forget,
To many on this server, their ship is a new car. Shiny and tricked out... we even have pimping... You wait till someone comes up with purchasable neon-kits and decals...
Anyway... what's the first thing a 16-26 year old (and many older as well) will do with it? Show it off.
It's human nature.
I am just saying, we have ships on here that people keep hidden. That are rare. If the Zoner BS is supposed to be one of those, then do something about it. Just hoping people will do it on their own... that's not going to be enough.
Educate rather than take away.

Adding a ZoI restriction like "Cannot enter lawful House space without permission" would at least force them to announce their movements.

Makes perfect sense in RP too.
Wouldn't be hauling one of the largest man-made war machines filled with a large Zoner populus around Sirius houses without making yourself known, and requesting clearance.

i really dislike any restrictions. i can remember when i started on this server i studied the wiki again and again to find out what i want. Maybe we just need to publish more informations there. more background than 2 or 3 sentences to some ships or other topics. that makes less space for interpretations and guides how to proper use the things.

Remember the many Zoner Whales being flown by non-Zoners a few months back?
Both the Wiki and the ID state they're not sold to non-Zoners... but there's always those who don't bother about such things.
Same thing is currently happening with the lore and myth behind the Juggernaut. It's written, but few care... or can care (i.e. Freeport-18 is a Juggernaut but acts as a Freeport at the place of the former Freeport 7... so that one can't quite be 'invisible').

Please, why more restrictions?
Honestly, just stop coming up with bloody annoying reasons to make the game harder for everyone that is not you.
And yes, that is exactly what you are doing and it cannot be denied.
Either you fly a Juggernaught 'correctly' (Which is a subject of debate) or you don't own one.
Either way you are simply saying 'These people don't fly like I think they should and therefore shouldn't be allowed to'.
Talk about selfish.
Seriously, this is a community of people.

Make the rules around the mass majority and not about whining voices.
Too much in Disco we go the whining way and although the Admins are good at doing the best thing in the end, it just causes flames and issues along the way.
Please, consider the fact that you may be completely alone in your opinion about this 'issue'.
I know plenty who disagree with you if it helps.

Hire 20 more RP knowing admins who don't favor anyone (I didn't say current ones do) and oversee the RP of people more often and intervene if necessary. Once that was offered for Omicrons (Minor especially) and it worked, though the interest there from the administration was... 20 mins or so.
