Arrow civilian interceptor - Panzer - 08-24-2007 Yeah, a train CD can stop anything, 2 are overkill. Arrow civilian interceptor - TankTarget - 08-25-2007 Well, I agree with that. However the Arrow needs to go faster than cruise. Because right now we can stop people from getting into cruise easy enough. It's a matter of knocking someone OUT of cruise. Because I have chased too many SF/SA battleships through asteroid fields and not being able to stop them no matter what. And as a matter of fact, every faction should have one of these sorts. Or make the Arrow a super available ship or something. Arrow civilian interceptor - Locke - 08-25-2007 I'm not sure having the two guns (even moved down to level 7) is enough of a balance of moving so fast. For every benefit, there needs to be an equal drawback. It seems like the arrow would need to be very, very weak if it's going to be so hard to hit. I mean, if it couldn't mount a shield, or maybe if it could only have a very low level shield it would be more balanced. I think it's just going to be way too annoying of a ship to kill, since it can dodge almost anything and can't do any real damage. Maybe make it so it has no counter-measure dropper? That would be a serious drawback! It would work well for factions, but without more balance smugglers are going to have yet another exploit-- plus when travelling faster than 350 it's going to be really hard to tell if someone is using the speed mod unless you are close enough to see that they are in an arrow. This will lead to more false accusations of cheating and even more work for the admins, don't you think? Arrow civilian interceptor - Panzer - 08-25-2007 maybe, maybe not... Agreed, that he arrow concept should develop and mor ships of this type should appear. Something for each house, something for the Outcasts, Corsairs... Arrow civilian interceptor - TankTarget - 08-25-2007 Well perhaps take the guns off the arrow altogether. Because not having a shield means instant death in an asteroid field.... Or give it 2 class 2 guns, just enough to kill npcs and whatnot.... or give it a class 5 missile mount and that's it. No mines or Cms for obvious reasons. Arrow civilian interceptor - Missingno. - 08-25-2007 put afterburn to 300, cruise to 400. Arrow civilian interceptor - Panzer - 08-25-2007 Yeah, just a lil' speed cap for the sake of this "interception" idea. Wouldn't go too far with the armament though. Dedicated missle slots would be most welcome, so that there was one gun - probably a debilitator-like shield buster and 2 catapult or lancer missles. That way, the ship will be able to hold its own against any fighter NPC it encounters. Arrow civilian interceptor - TankTarget - 08-25-2007 Missingo you're not getting it mate, going 400 in cruise is great and all but you have to engine kill you get someone with a CD. going 400 in afterburner is the best solution to it all and will work. But remember the arrow can do no damage and that makes it a dedicated support ship. Perfect for everyone to use but it means one less combat ship in your squadron meaning your power is reduced substantially. No nerfing would ever be needed for it. Arrow civilian interceptor - kiggles - 08-26-2007 Well if you gave it more than 1 afterburner then it would be able to catch up to ships in cruise but they would still have a chanse as the afterburner would drain at an increased rate. Kiggles:mellow: Arrow civilian interceptor - ghostcat - 08-26-2007 Could always vector though. |
