Need for Speed World - lynnntropy - 04-11-2010

Ok, let me get this straight. Free + MMO + NFS? Tell me why releasing this game isn't gonna make the universe implode.

Fun Game
Played it quite a bit yesterday and this morning.

Lots of content missing but overall enjoyable.
Runs Great looks great for a free to play game
Its free and its worthy of a try to all racing fans.

Quote:"man that apb game looks like it will sell well"
"lets copy it badly"
Don't know where you got that idea from. You cant drive around as a cop and drive around to arrest every street racer/speeder in free roam. Only in instanced modes that support it.

Good News
Game launches tomorrow!:yahoo:

How I can join the Police?

The Game is great not many lags and its a good game for old computers with weak hardware

Devs said something about Cops/Racers Game modes later on/
Hopefully we see soon.

One thing that concerns me about the game though.
Its pretty much a retail game (Pay 20.00 one time fee Unlock Everything past level 10 upto level 50), the free 2 play portion is pretty much a no limit demo. You don't get too much content for a free user at the moment (Compared to other F2P MMOs they offer quite a bit for the free user). Hopefully newer game modes will keep users entertained.
Getting to level 10 wont take long either. Maybe they will fix that later by raising the cap who knows.
Still a fun game worth a try. Currently at Level 7 myself.

NFS is getting more un-realistic by each new version D:

NFS 1 = Good and fun for that time
NFS 2 = Some improvement from 1
NFS 3 = Major improvements
....
NFS Porsche 2000 = I think the most realistic NFS there was/is
....
NFS underground = First real street racing and car pimping involved
After this it got all got bad and unrealistic.

Sorry to say but 'Power ups'? come on you got to be kidding me
Do we all get the 'force' in NFS world we just throw cop cars around, according to the trailer.

Neh no more NFS for me.

I stick to LFS (live for speed)
More realistic,
Real circuit racing,
It a more personal game.
It might not have the graphics but it makes up in learning how to drive/race.
But the lag of money with the game developers slows down the progress to keep up with new race games, although almost all new race games are getting more and more un-realistic.

Need for Speed World - ivr56 - 09-10-2010

@Sea, NFS is a arcade racing game.
Underground was no where near realistic. Unless how do you define realistic?

Quote:To celebrate EA's MMO-style Need for Speed World hitting one million registered users, the game is going free -- well, sort of.

Previously, you could play up until reaching level 10 before you had to break out the ol' wallet; now, everything is open, and you can still buy SpeedBoost items to "accelerate their career progression," as EA expertly puts it. They really do have a way with words.

I'm admittedly kind of shocked they didn't stick with this model from the get-go, but hey, there's nothing wrong with experimentation. It's a shame NFS World won't cooperate with my PC. Have any of you gotten around to playing, by any chance?

:yahoo:
Now I have a reason to play again.
I have like 60 grand sitting in my account, now to play some more and buy myself a sexy car.

*snip*

NFS Porsche 2000 was one of my favorite racing games.

Nice interface, even online, almost zero lag and you could switch, lets call it 'PvP' mode (player car contact) on or off before the race started.

There was a player made on-line server running for a while there once EA shut down the racing server. I don't know if it still exists or not.

I may just have to have a look at this NFS World.

Need for Speed World - schlurbi - 09-10-2010

Let me guess, it is only for PC? Shame, because both, PS3 and XBox got a nice Online Community and Stuff as well.

Better wait for Test Driver Unlimited 2 then :l
