So, I started reading books - jxie93 - 06-10-2010 Good. Hopefully reading will improve your English skills too. I recommend Iain Banks. So, I started reading books - Fletcher - 06-10-2010 Ti'n gwaed y Saesneg fi ddim yn ardderchog? So, I started reading books - Geeky - 06-14-2010 If you like Sci-fi, i would recommend these series: The Lost Fleet (6 books) , and The Saga of the Seven Suns (7 books) So, I started reading books - Magoo! - 06-14-2010 Don't read the Flood. The others? Yes. But the Flood? Please, Fletcher, no. So, I started reading books - jetblack357 - 06-16-2010 Read Fahrenheit 451, 1984, and some of H.G. Wells books, I love all of them, also read 20,000 leagues under the sea. So, I started reading books - jetblack357 - 06-16-2010 ' Wrote:You started reading books huh? I have seen the movie of Logan's Run but didn't read the book. So, I started reading books - ivr56 - 06-16-2010 ' Wrote:The Fall of ReachI've read Contact Harvest and First Strike. Both are good reads if your into the background story of games. Halo, to me always had one of the most interesting lores. It has a really well developed back story. I still got to pick up the other books. Another set of books which is also a good read, Tom Clancy novels. I read Splinter Cell and most of Rainbow Six. Both are really good reads, especially Splinter Cell. Gotta work on two SC: Conviction novels i have when I can. I most likely won't be getting the game for awhile as long as it has that dreaded DRM. So, I started reading books - ProwlerPC - 06-16-2010 I happen to really really like R.A.Salvatore's work. I used to DM many DnD games back in the day and read many novels of the fantasy/adventure genre by not only R.A.Salvatore but also Ed Greenwood, Troy Denning, Margeret Weiss & Tracy Hickman, and Jeff Grub. R.A.Salvatore stood out in my opinion, the depth of his character's are astounding, well thought out and consistant. I haven't read a single book of his where I couldn't visualize his characters and even empathize with them (good or bad). His work mostly, but as well as the others mentioned, have been a major source of material for my NPCs I used when I was DM'ng games. So, I started reading books - Grumblesaur - 06-16-2010 You need to read The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy by Douglas Adams. So, I started reading books - Fletcher - 06-16-2010 Just finished reading Contact Harvest. Hell of a book. Its given be great insight into the lore of Halo, not to mention how deep treachery and mistrust goes in the Covenant. I was also sad when Loki did what he did to Sif, twice. But it was necessary. Avery, now I see why he's a badass through and through, although I was very surprised he'd gone through that much, not to mention he got a nice reminder of humanity in the end. After reading the book I turned this music on: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEwufXTB0V0 Helps add into the scale of the lore I think. The game butchered it, but its still large and mysterious. Contact Harvest, I really recommend it. Now... Which one to read next? First Strike, The Flood, Fall of Reach or Ghost of Onyx? Tempted to read First Strike. |
