Namely just amending your laws to include anything that you dont want people to be doing (camping Crete for example, or do you want them to do that?), and actually enforce it in RP.

Some of us have been forced to babysit the indies around Malta for a long time, and suffice to say that people don't sign up to serve the 101st so that they might reduce the amount of suicidal indies you get thrown your way.

It used to be simpler, obviously... back when we had three factions as well, but babysitting all of the indies we are forced to deal with- the kind of people who only roll Outcasts for the weapons, the ZoI and the right to pirate- is a tast too great for one faction to handle.

As some of you guys say: It's about having fun, and it's not fun playing the admins of Outcast space.

It's not babysitting, just whenever you notice Outcast caps in Gamma, get one of your people in-game and tell them they shouldn't be there. That's what I do (as a 'sair indy Elder, trying to keep the indies in line, and in space they should be in, is partially my responsibility), it's neither hard nor time-consuming, and most indies I have met, even most the less RP-capable ones, have caught on pretty quickly.

I'm not saying you have to, I'm just pointing out that it is not hard, and that it really makes a difference.

Edit: As far as I am aware, enforcing RP laws of a nation in an RP manner is cool.

Completely banning all kind of raids won't happen unless Eta starts to work. People buy their ships to actually use them, so regulations won't matter, they'll do it anyways.

As you do to us, we do to you.

And where do you thing this improves the situation if you don't give them a better example?

I think Del was the Admin who threatened the 101st with severe consequences if they'd try to enforce any kind of control over their indies...

I did, at one point. But I got tired of hearing "lol u cant tell me wut 2 do" and "fag" constantly, so I stopped trying to reason with them.

Epyon's solution was simple enough: Blow the living crap out of the indies until they learn, but that kind of thing is all too time-consuming.

Anyway, if you insist I'll try talking to the indies, provided that somebody who is in gamma when it happens can give me a shout over Skype in the event that I am not online.

And this. Be sure to thank Del if you ever see him again.

Been there, done that. Done it a lot. Doesn't help much if they ignore you.

Well if nobody likes to babysit indies, let's just get rid of them and keep it between factions?

Oh wait, forgot indies may not be violated.

James T. Panzerpants is correct.

We don't use Caps.

That's a start.
And we are horrible pilots. Gnihi...

EDIT: Ehem...
No, but seriously, we don't do it that often.
You will see OC around Java all the time, but when does it come to IMG/CR ganking OC?
And even if it goes so far, we will be outnumbered after some time again, since they start calling backup.
(And we aren't able to kill them (fast enough))...

Well, that is why we have the Court, so that any particularly ignorant or lolish indies can face the RP consequences of their actions (warnings/fines/FR5's enforced in an RP manner as a result of not obeying RP laws).

I mean I'm just telling you what we do, and what has worked for us, as you don't see any Legates camping Malta any more, you don't have to do what we have, but at least do -something-. Or are you content just ignoring the fact that something you CAN control, but choose not to, is getting really annoying for a lot of other players, and degrading RP as a whole (as every time the OC come into Gamma they spout huge quantities of OORP chat over system chat, which is not setting a good example for any of our indies, who are often new players)?

Ignoring a problem does not make it go away.

If you want somebody to moderate the Omicrons then look to the admins.

Or... if you're that keen on writing stuff on the forum constantly, then please start an Outcast character and I'll make him into a judge or something or other.
