There s something i gotta be doing wrong. It failed again 3 times. I am used to liner, never had problem with it.
Ok, sizewise, it is much different, but damn it....I know how to align. Docking is engaged, you expect the lil video transition from system to system to start, but it never comes. And the ship controls are out, in a kind of limbo. The console is still working. I have to F1 every time.
Gonna try again....

Flying a Barge is a fun experience (for me atleast), as long as no one comes to pew pew you ... that's why always hire an escort (of atleast 3 good pilots)

Barge docking with a jumphole: Click. Click for vid.
Barge docking with a station: Click.
Not that hard, you just have to have patience, prolly a good idea too is using the roll controlls ... the idea is that you have to align the transport or the antenna thingy to the station's tower (or wherever the quickdock point is situated) to dock with a station ... as for holes it's the same logic, get either the transport or the antenna inside the hole or a bit before it and just dock, should do the trick ... (from personal experience don't use the F3 command from a distance if you wanna dock with a jumphole) ...
And yes going through asteroid fields is a nightmare, good thing there is a /stuck command, or I'd still be somewhere in the Omegas ....

So, docking with station or JH is no problem using the quick dock point - the ladder under the ship, or the small train - .
I haven't tryed trrade lanes for there are none around me, but should be ok.
Still, docking with jump gate is unscusseful. Gonna try....agaiiin....

All docking is good. Actually, it is the JG docking that is the most complicated, for i have no real control on it. For the rest, quick dock points are the trick. Lane is no probleme......

I find aligning the whole ship a bit low when docking TL's or JG's to work fine and:
with a JG I bring my nose up to the jaws and hit dock, all goes well.
with a TL you gotta be really well aligned and slightly lower than central works fine most of the time...
