Have you ever been in an real mining faction and have you ever experienced a well done mining operation? Your desription clearly says: "No, I'm just quoting some myths and misconceptions abut lolwut-miners."

Skype chat is not the way to discuss this issue you have.
It will just be two or three people that are on at the same time making an agreement before others voice their oppinion.
Have seen it enough times now.

If you really want to get the faction leaders together, I would suugest a forum somewhere that can host the meeting with moderation.

Yeah. Cool idea.

I disagree, thus the reason for the post. And on a serious note, thank you for actually adding to the discussion, making an argument and supporting it. And that is a sincere appreciation.

Yes and yes.

No, I'm not talking about lolwuts, I'm talking about restricting a faction's activity to one or two mining fields and the trip to the sell point. I'm talking about restricting a faction's online time to the moments when the server is empty so you can shoot rocks in peace. I'm talking about people who you don't see on skype unless they are being pirated. I'm talking about people who don't wanna take part in any faction events because mining is too profitable. And much more

But that is where we butt heads, you blame mining mod, I blame people.

Edit: I might be the minority, but I shoot rocks late at night BECAUSE the server is empty BECAUSE no interaction with people. (fixed that sentence up a bit)

Give a man one finger and he'll bite your arm off. On the other thread you raised the indie problem and I completely agree with you. There is no way to control them. I once met an indie Daumann who was mining for a Liberty hauler and they were both protected by a Hessian. I tried to reason with them but it was useless. On another occasion a RM indie gunboat fired on my patrol because I was shooting on a liberty hauler in Omega 11. It is true, these people will continue to be stupid no matter what, but taking away the (or at least one) opportunity for them to act stupid is a good thing

Edit:

And you think that is ok?

To: mining factions leaders, and admins/devs responsible for mining mods - hermit - 03-02-2011

Yes, I do think that is ok, but I think we are losing something in translation. I don't pirate because no one to pirate, I don't police/military because there are only lulwuts, and I don't trade because trading is already deathly boring. Add in that you pretty much have no chance of interaction because of server population ... so I mine. I mine which gives me stuff to shoot, gives me people to talk to ( yes there are actually some good RPs out there ), and gives lazy the pirates to come and try to shoot me. Mining is a low server population must! Discovery is huge, when there are 50 people on the server I like to increase my chances of interaction ... oh yeah, I don't mind getting pirated, I like it! I'm Kruger CEO, I'm rich mitch!

The whole indie problem, yeah, I don't know the answer to that ... Sometimes I think if they got shot and lost their ore they would start to listen but I also see the problems to arise from that.

I don't think the mining factions are the issue here, at least not the official ones. If this skype chat is wanted I'll participate. AeternusDoleo is my skype ID. I still see the high value of ore as the primary problem. Drop the value of that cargo and everyone is happy. Except for the Hegehaulers who go at it alone.
