Samarran Raiders - Asbestos - 05-16-2011

Just read through your Wiki page. Interesting RP, and I hope to see some of you guys ingame.

Also, haters gonna hate...

Samarran Raiders - DeathsOverture - 05-16-2011

Hey there. I didn't read up. I just want to say I like everything I've read so far, except the name of the ship. The name "Iraq" is kind of meaningless since pre-exodus country names don't really exist in the disco... but REGIONS do. How about The Mesopotamia? It sort of allows you to have a broader origin... and sounds cooler

' Wrote:I fail to see how our RP is radical. And I wont quote the more radical forms of RP that other people utilize out of pure courtesy and fairness.

Of course, I understand your concern about it being a "new house" and I can assure you, it wont. The system, as you must know exists only inRP and not in-Game, and we only have limited recourses and ships, cutting off the ability of this becoming something of a house.

And I would say that one technologically set back and isolationist ''culture or organization" (in lack of better words) could ever become a house.

By radical I mean that: Boom! *Arabian system borns on the map*

Well, even if it is inRP only it's still a huge change to Discovery universe. We need periodical changes, but a new system, a new culture, a new civilization is too much. If this idea reaches Igiss's ears you might have a change to:
a) get your own system in the future and be a new culture to the game
b) get disbanded forever

Do not get me wrong! I love your idea. I love the concept of having arabian culture in Discovery. It's a great addtion to the game, but once again I say that the change is to radical to be made..... or atleast to be made now.

PS: I also met you in-game guys. The experience with you, I mean, with (SR-The.Golden.Sheik was pretty much a failure. But that is only one player, what we are talking about is a whole *possible* faction.

Samarran Raiders - Chrysalis - 05-16-2011

[font=Palatino Linotype]I see your point, but we are not changing anything. We are not RP-ing an entire culture, we are Rp-ing a Raiders group from there, which is not even welcome at that system. And the jumphole to the system is super unstable, there is no real safe way back, so it remains only in-RP.

And the Golden Sheik, that's a shared account, could've been anyone, if you get what I mean.

Comment appreciated.

Interesting read so far,and I can see where there is still items on the wiki to finish up.
Any idea what your ZOI is going to be ?

Samarran Raiders - Chrysalis - 05-16-2011

[font=Microsoft Sans Serif]Basically from what I heard, we're not going to have a fixed ZOI, we would be like nomadic (not aliens) raiders, moving our HQ throughout Sirius, raiding, never remaining at the same spot for long. But if you would look for the most frequent ZOI, that would be the Tau Systems, due to our involvement in smuggling there.

Samarran Raiders - gafwmn - 05-16-2011

Ok,pardon my way of thinking, and I will try to keep this positive,but....why another galactic-wide,wants to go anywhere pirate/smuggler group ?

I have seen many start-up factions in my time here, and that seems to be the main theme, the " we want to go anywhere and pirate everybody, the universe is our playground ".

My next question logically would be,what ships do you plan on using?
From your storyline,I can see traders, fighters and bombers, and the ocassional liner.
Do you intend on using capships of any sort ? And if so,what ship class / line would you be using ?

Samarran Raiders - Cosmos - 05-16-2011

Ok lets see.

Banning him from Alpha.

He stated he would get the OC fleet on my ass for pirating him and he put the // OOC symbols before it, So i told him if he wishes to meta game? I shal meta game by going on ym 101st and telling the MNS to destroy him. Which was purely a "You meta game, I meta game too" scenario.

Now for the OOC I have the screens of the whole chat log, Starting from whjere he started whining at me OOC up untill he threatens me OORP.

Would you like to see it? Because if so i'll make it public.

Anyways, All i'm trying to say is. First encounter i don't want to be trolled by ooc of how i cant pirate someone because he's a slave trader.

Samarran Raiders - Chrysalis - 05-16-2011

[font=Microsoft Sans Serif]I don't think we can use a cap line, without a SRP that is. So caps are a no, at least for the time being. And of course, this faction is still in it's early stages, many aspects will be changed.

Samarran Raiders - SnakThree - 05-17-2011

You cannot demand anything, but human cargo, while having Slaver ID. That comes from the fact that one of IC| members was a victim of it.

It does not matter what ID you are using on other ships. ID defines who you are and puts restrictions on the one currently using it.

While your faction's background is great, the ingame actions are not good.

Instead of moving and pirating in the middle of Sirius, stay close to your home, and expand slowly. That might help create that mood of your home existing. That's my opinion.
