Into the Abyss - Jam - 09-13-2011 Sergei grabbed his piece of equipment aswell, and tried some basic moves with it. After a while, he joined up with the rest of his wingmen. "Ready for action." He threw a short glance at all Militsiya soldiers, knowing some big is gonna happen. Into the Abyss - mayu20 - 09-13-2011 ![]() Dasha nod's as well to her commrads and start to take ammo from the mobile armory. She loaded her rifle, side arm, and put a knife in her leg sheath. "Never know who or what comes too close" she saied. Then she took a grenade launcher and put it on her back. "Well, if the crowd control gets too big, someting to make them run or even remove them away." ![]() Into the Abyss - Tomtomrawr - 09-13-2011 Middleton quickly surveyed his weapon before, satisfied that all moving parts would move at the correct velocity, he kept it held over his chest ready for action. After the departure of Villers, he stowed away the reserve ammunition and relaxed, allowing his weapon to fall to his side. He remained silent and waited for others to approach him. Into the Abyss - mtjsmith - 09-13-2011 ![]() Major Xu whisked past all the recruits as they were all checking their guns and looking blankly at their ammo. Grabbing the collar of the young Thomas Cruz, he dragged him up the stairs of the SoCred and into the cockpit. He threw him into the Co-Pilots seat. "Sit down, shut up, touch only what I tell you to." He noticed the hole in the dashboard where the warning lights should be. "Did you do this!?" Cruz, still clutching his shotgun and chest, shaked his head rapidly. Xu merely grunted and flicked the Engine starter switches. "Finish start prep." He moved out back and signalled the recruits inside the ageing gunboat. He noted there were still scorch marks on the inside of the cargo bay from the last time the ship had descended towards JiangXi. It had very nearly been blown apart. He moved back into the cockpit and took over the controls. "Pull that level down kid. Gorodok, we have all the ducks aboard and are heading for the barrel. Clear us." "You're cleared Social Credit. Good hunting." "Pray for these geese in hunting season, oh and I mean you as well muppet. Pull that level there to engage the Cloak once we're in the atmosphere and push that button there to turn off all the sensor arrays. We don't have any computers on this thing save for the little chip in the sensor array. If it's off - We're unhackable." He pushed the Storm down into the atmosphere, something didn't feel quite right with the ship. The controls felt shaky and sluggish. Xu kept it in check and pointed at the Cloak lever. Cruz obliged, and the oddly vibrating Social Credit arrived at the drop point. No incoming rocket fire, and his experienced eyes couldn't see any movement. They were well clear of the facility however. "Go out back, I have it from here. Pasha, start throwing the ducks into the water." Into the Abyss - arvg - 09-13-2011 ![]() The Social Credit roared low over the horizon of the shattered world, skimming around blast craters that still cooked with the residual radiation from the Phantom assault. The ship dipping as it approached the outskirts of an industrial sector, a long line of old, disused fuel tanks, pipes and girders. Pasha was smoking a cigarette as he grabbed the first recruit by both arms and hurled him out of the rear ramp, watching the terrified youth crash through the roof of an abandoned supervisors mobile office. Pasha taking a quick glance down, as the Storm swept up and around, leaving the youth on his own at the drop off point. "Next!" the Master Chief said as he turned and grabbed the woman with the grenade launcher... "hold your breath!" he ordered as he roughly pitched her out of the hatch, watching her arms and legs flailing as she hit the water of a large reservoir. Shaking his head as she went under. "You!" he grabbed another pilot, a tougher looking man this time. "Your turn... I suggest you tuck and roll..." He shoved the man out as well, the recruit crashing into the roof of a watchtower, slidding down the heavilly slanted roof and plunging out of sight. "Damn... I said tuck and roll, not roll and tuck..." he rubbed his face as the Storm moved on. "You," he grabbed another one. Pushing a large red bottle into his hand marked ketchup. "You know how to run, Da?" The Recruit looked at him in sheer terror. Pasha shook his head, grinning sadistically as he sent this one hurling towards the parking lot of what had once been AgroProm... a notorious 'survivor' camp, packed full of brain damaged and quite hungry bandits. He chuckled as the Storm blasted skywards, sweeping towards a blasted out office tower, the ship slipping past the shattered windows and gnarled girders. Lifting up towards the roof he gestured to the next pair. "Go!" he yelled watching them leap for the roof, and shaking his head as the roof gave way underneath them, a crashing sound as the surrounding roof structure gave way, depositing them somewhere deep inside the ruins. "You're breaking up the squad!" Someone yelled at him. Pasha nodded. "Da, more of a chance you will actually make the bunker this way." he tossed the recruit out of the cargo bay, and into the mud of what had once been a small experimental farm. "Cruz, Alvarez!" Pasha called, grabbing the first of the scouts, as the Storm cut low towards the edge of the small city on the far side of the complex. He tapped Alvarez on the shoulder and pushing him out, sending him to the ground, as a few moments later Cruz joined him. Smirking at them as the Storm lifted off. The Scouts thought they had it easy... Pasha shook his head. With all the security around the secret TALOS complex, the town approach probably had the most. And since they were meant to be bait, giving the others a clear run... The Storm curved up, as the senior officers assembled around the bay, the Storm settling in for a landing at the edge of the complex. The "Ground Bait" successfully spread about, whatever had taken over the complex was going to have its hands full trying to cover all of its bases, leaving the path open for the Lieutenant to get inside and out undetected. "Good luck Comrade Murray," Pasha stated stubbing out his cigarette and picking up a shotgun, just incase something decided to come sniffing about the invisible ship. Into the Abyss - TheOrangeButterfly - 09-13-2011 Johannes was thrown out of the Storm with force. He plunged down the side of the watchtower, managing to land on one of the gutters of the building. He swooped down into the watchtower, a building that felt highly unstable. His heart was pounding, adrenaline going a mile a minute. He looked out from the higher-ground he had landed on. He checked his gear. One of his side-arms snapped off when he hit the top of the roof, meaning it was somewhere on the ground below him. This was worrying, but nothing that he couldn't handle. He still had all the guns he required to hopefully take on everything that he was about to come up against. He began viewing the surrounding terrain, trying to make marks of what was where. He saw the objective complex, not exactly a close site. It would be tricky making it past some of the defenses of whatever he was up against. Johannes was kneeling now, checking his rifle one last time before he walked down the stairs of the watchtower. He looked outside the door, alert. He didn't want anything getting the jump on him. The ground looked solid, damp. Perhaps slightly muddy. Nothing his combat boots couldn't handle. Having observed the cover from the tower, he started trying to plot a course where he wasn't exposed in the open as much as possible. Every second he was exposed was another second the enemy had to train onto his position. Every second he gave away his position was one more second he could get shot. He had to keep moving, keep in cover, and only shoot when needed. One shot gave them a direction, two shots gave them a position. His Hessian training was kicking in. Having gone through officer training, each pilot knew the basics of ground warfare in case they were ever called up to raid a station. Simplicity. Think simple. Don't get killed. Move. Stay alert. Never get complacent. You will see your family again. These thoughts were what Claus was experiencing. Into the Abyss - Dane Summers - 09-13-2011 ![]() A few milliseconds in freefall, not enough time to even think about what was happening, and then sickening pain. Somewhere far off in his own ears was the sound of a human body thudding off a wrecked vehicle, then the far muted sound of the same body hitting pavement. He had landed on the roof of someones old car, a moldered wreck, bounced off, and hit the ground. All he could feel was the wave of pain, followed by the nauseating tingle of shock throughout his limbs. He lost time as his head cleared, and his breathing, heavy, labored, came under control. lying on his back, looking up at the grey sky, still feeling nauseous. Sitting up, he found his shoulder was throbbing in hot pain, and his ankle was sharp in protest of any pressure on it. The sound of ripping velcro was way too loud as it echoed off the buildings in the distance. Removing a small plastic box, he took out two syrettes, held them with his lips, put the kit away, and jabbed one after the other into his shoulder and ankle. The pain and throbbing subsided, but the tingly drug feeling flowed back, and Ketsu felt sick. Rising to his feet, the disorientation made him vomit. Wiping his mouth, he readied his rifle, and peered around. A parking lot with the odd car hulk - a large, half-ramshackle ruined industrial complex, and a city not too far away behind it. From his briefing, he figured the Complex he had to reach was beyond this structure, and somewhere beyond the town. He'd have to cross through it, and going around it would take too long. He unslung his rifle, and noticed his hands and chest were covered with red ketchup. Damn...that crazy bottle mustve smashed open - he gagged on the smell, and tried in vain to wipe it off his hands on the car hulk. No avail. Sneering in disgust, he unslung his rifle, checked it was full, assumed a high ready stance, and made from cover to cover of the car hulks, preparing to enter the building itself... Into the Abyss - mayu20 - 09-13-2011 ![]() Dasha made her way out of that big wather reservoir, She start looking after a ladder to climb down from it. "Damn is so cold here!" After she climbed down she looked after her city map. She removes her map and start analize it. "Ah this way, three streets to north then two to est and then to north again, this way i will avoid the "populated" areas and the open ground". She put the map back in her backpack and starts to move holding her gun with safety lock off and be on alert for anything might come closer. "Damn, now I am so glad that i took this grenade launcher, might come handly in sticky situations around this palce." And she started to walk on the alley with her eyes in all the ways. ![]() Into the Abyss - mtjsmith - 09-13-2011 ![]() Cruz hit the deck a few meters away from his buddy Alvarez. His chest still hurt like hell and he was glad he had the safety on his new shotgun. He had put a lot of pressure on the trigger, probably enough to set it off and blast Alvarez's cap off. Maybe even his head. He neglected to mention this to him. "Heh, they just couldn't use the frecking zip line could they dude?" He took out his trusty hiking map, which in reality was a colour-in picture taken from the back of a fast food packet. "We're here. Evil lair there. High point there, grid defence there." He pointed to the cheeseburger logo. "Avoid there. Or we'll be between two slices of bread." Into the Abyss - arvg - 09-13-2011 ![]() Allie looked over his friend's shoulder at the map, nodding as he glanced about him at the dilapidated buildings around them. "People used to say there were Dragons on JiangXi... you ever see one?" he asked a bit nervous as he lifted his rifle up to his shoulder and swept the rooftops with the scope. "Cause I ain't being the only virgin on the menu... bread or not." He lowered the rifle, "how do you want to play this, dude? Me I can be up top, and be all - like... pop...pop... an'sheez, while you Bam-bam them if they get past me... problem is that's gonna slow me down, dude. And you know me, I like the whole "¡Andale! ¡Andale! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba! ¡Yii-hah!" stuff..." He glanced at his buddy, "plus if you get eaten first, who am I gonna be stuck with, the nugget patrol? Yeah, no thanks on that one!" |
