I hereby officially request that the "Discovery RP Factions" forum be renamed to "Discovery Comedy Central". It would be more descriptive of our usual fare lately. We might have a copyright lawsuit from the cable tv companies, but who cares? The cable networks don't have infernos and supernovas, now do they?

Which might be easy to decide after I lay out who we are and where we come from and what our goals are... I will be posting our group description shortly which I see is in dire need.
Yes we come from the game "Grand Theft Auto San Andreas" We are a Disciplined Police Group which take our game quite seriously while doing our police work on the GTA Server.
Our website is http://teamsapd.com/ which contains information about our GTA Team, listen at the radio at the top and its a clip of our actual operations and radio op.... and yes we have a forum, which we have 1 board for Freelancer which is viewable by the public, in the misc games area.
I recently got our team into Freelancer which I've played over 2 years back and when I saw the Discovery Mod and saw that it was very populated as for a server and very active, I've gain some great interest.
I've made the game available to all our members, they vary from college students to real life officers, family members, etc.
I can assure you that we are a group of people with actual heads on their shoulders.
I haven't posted anything quite yet as were just 2 days into the server and wanted to see what its all about firstly. Now that we have and I now have a great bunch of my guys in the server now, I will be posting the team BIO shortly.
I will be developing a website portion for TeamSapd for Freelancer that will be actively updated with current activities after the base BIO is posted in the forums.
Right now we actually have no clue what [SAPD] will mean in Freelancer but we are looking for a name that will go along with the [SAPD] Tag.
We are getting more and more of our guys everyday into the game, but the guys you've seen today is going to be the base of our team as they are our most active.
I do apologize if this created a bit of a scuffle amongst the community.
We are learning on the RP of the server and getting great help from individuals on the server and tips on how to RP, whose who, how the basics work etc.
I do want to thank the generosity of a few people who helped get the team started with its first cargo ship now doing its trade runs to start building the first Income for the team.
// For now since were a small time group here in the server with ships that aren't quite to up to par with the rest of the people, we're just going to lay low and be a trading group, with intentions of becoming a law enforcement group down the road after we've become acquainted with the laws, how things work, and get the general flow of the server and feel comfortable enough to finally make the move to law.

I have let all of my members know that Forum Registration is mandatory and have them made all aware and read the rules of the server, there should be a rush of registration shortly.

Instead of being a police faction, I would suggest a sort of... quasi-police/mercenary faction. So you'd work for the Houses as hired guns. We already have lots of police/military factions for all houses. Your's could roam around getting contracts with certain houses to boost their manpower.

I was actually thinking about after I've seen quite a few requests for people who needed escorts, so being a quasi-police/mercenary faction would be highly considered.

As Robert said, indeed there is already a lot of factions arround but If you want to become a police faction here is some suggestions
Kusari and Rheinland has no police factions and there is a lot of activity there cuz of the trading
Or you can join the BPA (Bretonia police), QCR (Bretonia army), KNF (Kusari navy), RM (Rheinland military), LPI or SA. LSF recruitment is closed, we are already more than enough.
You have plenty of choices, most factions leaders arroud are really nice people. Keep on learning how thing work here, you will have a better view of what suit you

I would suggest mercenary ID and Ageira or something tag. Ageira would signify that you protect the trade lanes and the traders that comes with them.
This will probably bring you into confrontations with the [Lane Security] group, who do practically the same thing. Hmm.
Either that, or tell the main House factions about your group and see how you can work in the Houses.
Its unlikely that people will accept another police faction, especially one that might be roaming from House to House. So mercenary seems like the best (and most profitable) route.

Great, thank you for the great tips.
While we play on the server we are in constant VOIP comms with Ventrilo and love to coordinate our operations.
Since we are looking to be in the server in good numbers, some of the things we coordinate could be quite impressive;)Its been quite impressive in the GTA community after we got organized there and became the biggest police group in that server called "CrazyBobs Cops N Robbers" which can be found at http://crazybobs.net/
Since now that we have kinda gotten a bit tired of GTA as we are the biggest police team there, and criminals are no longer really a big challenge, we looking into something that can be challenging for us to tackle, and this seems like a great way to feed our hunger for something new and yes very challenging!
I talked over the idea on ventrilo here the possibility of us being a quazi/merc Police group, and my guys are really liking the idea, bassically being the Back Up for other Police Agencies when things get our of hand, kinda like calling in the SWAT team.
Edit: Ok I see what you mean about the Police Faction jumping from house to house and those groups not liking it... maybe Merc is the way to go... we shall see.
We're going to post up as a Trading group at first and make the change later on down the road.
