So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - jammi - 08-05-2012 ' Wrote:Getting guard rep requires OORP grinding and thus hurts RP.Wat. Hell no. That's effectively bypassing, "I think factions should have more power," and going straight for "official faction dystopia". So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - Marburg - 08-05-2012 @jammi: If you're thirsty, you go get a glass of water. If you want a gun that requires a guard rep, you go get a guard rep. My analogy is literally that simple. & you're just splitting (butt)hairs:P as for your bottom question, ' Wrote:So the point of your story is that couriers are bad and people should get things themselves?you overlooked something I said on page 1: ' Wrote:If it takes a certain amount of guard repping to get the guns you want, then you simply take the time needed to rep up yourself or save the time by group repping or just buying a rep off someone. So no, you missed the point by a mile So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - Quorg - 08-05-2012 ' Wrote:Wat. Hell no. I fail to see how encouraging more players to join the factions is a bad thing. My proposal solves the problem of OORP guard rep grinding and encourages more indies to join the factions at the same time. It's a win-win. So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - Corsair - 08-05-2012 Marburg, this is a game. I don't want to work hours upon tedious hours for the sake of getting a ship. And you're forgetting that to get these ships you need to trade. Trading is yet another tedious, lengthy task that I accept as a necessary evil. But then forcing players to grind for yet MORE hours against mind-numbingly frustrating laggy NPCs is beyond cruel. I have never once said to myself 'Gee, I sure do love shooting at twitchy NPCs for hours upon hours. This is definitely validating my desire to have a gunship. I approve of this.' And I'm going to point out once again that mission dropping and double bribing took just as long as the actual mission grinding. I have never once said to myself 'Gee, I sure do love shooting at twitchy NPCs for hours upon hours. This is definitely validating my desire to have a gunship. I approve of this.'You are 100% right- so you find a glitch or two like the guys with cap8 armours, OP route or two make 5-6b in credits and just buy whatever gear you need, the best route now allows to make around 250-300m per hour per person in 2 man group- with 10 hours boring trading if you are time restricted you could have whatever you want. If you are time restricted you does not need 10 battleships with cau8s anyway, not even to point out that if you practice instead conventional trading time (30-40m/hours) to get the cau8 from cau4 you would be doing better with cau4 anyway- TS gbs are sets of keys- get some GB whore to show you the right keys together with 2-3 movements and in 2 hours training you would be able to trash 90% of the server. I agree with you about the repping- it is plain stupid and useless point is that creates activity somehow- or someone in the dev team think so at least, no matter how useless activity without interaction with others they want it in. Same story with the useless 50k drift- more then 15 k is just the same timewaster- it wont change anything if you want to F1 camp you still can do it 3k with 1-2 m per second is good enough for fast F1 and miner hunt so the tool does not take the miner out of CD range anyway . The right way to make it is to put the F1ed ship instantly 20k away from F1ed spot on pure random principle. People that call the shots think otherwise- so nothing would be changed anyway. However, what you willfully fail to take into account is that (guard reps for example) are already exceedingly simple and quick to get. With the restart addons, the double-plus bribes, the open market, group repping & whatever else I can't think of off the top of my head...there are multiple options open that lessen the headaches & are just waiting to be used yet, here you are claiming that it still just ain't easy enough. That's why I find your proposal ridiculous. ::oh, & as with anything else in the world, the more you do something, the quicker you will become at it, so if it takes you an equal amount of time to drop & bribe as it does to take missions, then imho, that's your problem to improve, not the devs:: So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - Govedo13 - 08-05-2012 ' Wrote:::sigh:: obviously it's a game & yes I totally get that you & some others would prefer that things be made easier. But they are already easier for some- autorephack 0.9 oh wait he is not in invite only special no indie faction.... The rest of the post is pure form or bull... I would actually prefer the game to be harder with harsher consequences when you die that eat a lot of credits-getting the equip and ship should be easy- keeping it working should be damn hard. Reping and missions for reping is plain stupid time waster nothing less or more except that some "better" factions does not need to do it- you does not believe me? Just check the auto rep sheet and see who gets instantly 9 bars on green for their own ID.. This is the worst part- some need to grind for rep like idiots and others get it for free....but indeed it is not the Devs that made certain factions not to grind.... So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - Marburg - 08-05-2012 Heh! In all the time I've been here, I've never wanted into an invite-only faction & have never or will ever attempt to lobby to join one, so I've never given a squirty squat about how their reps are. It's never affected the way I play my characters & has never slowed down my gameplay, so I fail to see why you chose my previous post to reply to & go off on it:lol: So we got rid of Guard IDs.. - Govedo13 - 08-05-2012 Same here- I just like other type of RP/People to play with. I replied like that because you said that it is ok to grind missions like Idiot-even if I personally does not see it was such we could assume that it is part of the game so it should be ok, when it is ok then it should be for all, when some receive the rep for nothing and the rest must do the idiotic grinding then it is definitely not ok and the system does not work properly.
