RE: Family Betrayal - l3wt - 12-14-2012 James merely nodded, picked up his bag and shuffled out of the seat, to disembark along with the other passengers. once he stepped onto the paved surface of the landing pad and had cleared the door for the other passengers, he took a second to just inhale and enjoy the salty sea air, which made a pleasing contrast to the compressed and recycled stuff he had been breathing a few moments ago. Once Austin had stepped off the shuttle as well, he fell in step with him, and began to subtly scan for opportunities. He'd worked as private security himself, so he knew mostly how this worked - there were always holes in these sort of establishments, if you knew where to look.
"Alright. I see some options, like we spoke of. Bluff or pay off sec staff, or sneak off and find an alternate entrance, out of sight. Mind the cameras. How do you want to play this?" RE: Family Betrayal - Amelia - 12-15-2012 "What now? Are you going to kill all my friends who only wanted to help me? Are you going to kill Jenny as soon as she comes?" Amelia asked, still shocked and confused about the entire thing, though following Evie closely towards the bar from what Amelia could see in the distance. "What are you planning to do? Speak up God dammit!"
"Calm down. I am going to order a drink and then... then we will wait for Jenny." Evie replied as she was heading directly towards the bar. "Going to kill her too?" "No." Evie replied simply and sat down on the bar stool next to the counter. She rubbed her head as the bartender turned his head towards her. "Uhm... two, for me and her." The bartender nodded and began to mix their drinks. Evie smiled as Amelia had finally reached her and gestured her to sit down. Amelia let out a sigh and sat down on the bar stool right next to her. She shook her head and placed her arms on the table and buried her head into them. Evie, who watched her, frowned and placed her hand on Amelia's back, slowly beginning to stroke it. "Hey... everything will be alright." "I... I just don't know anymore... I don't know you anymore. You are not the little sister I used to know. It... it saddens me." Amelia replied, having turned her head slightly to look at her, beginning to sulk. "Being hunted by Mercenaries all the time changes you, Amy." Evie replied with a smirk, though frowning at her again, "Do you... still want to find out who it was?" "No... not anymore. Lily is already dead. For what? For something that happened long time ago? I don't want any other people to get harmed because of this. It's not worth it." Amelia replied, sighing heavily and burying her head back into her arms. "Let's wait for Jenny for now." Evie nodded frowning, though her frown turned into a smile when the drinks were finally brought. She picked the glass up and began to drink. "Let's wait." ***
Meanwhile Jennifer smiled softly as the shuttle finally had reached the landing pad and stepped off it as all the other people did too. Once she was on the ground she smiled at all the various people that were on the shuttle with her and walked past them towards the security staff. "H-hello! Uhm... where can..." She stopped as one of the sec staff yelled her name and walked towards her. "Ah, Miss Berry! Your sister is waiting for you. I will show you the way, come!" The man said. "U-uhm... o-okay." Jennifer stuttered and looked embarrassed and nervous at the other people from the shuttle as she began following the man towards a nearby building. RE: Family Betrayal - Wolfs Ghost - 12-27-2012 Austin looked around for a moment before he heard someone shout the name Berry. Upon spotting who he assumed was the woman he accidentally slammed his hand into James' arm, then pointed in Jennifer's direction. Without much of a second thought, Austin approached the security officer and the woman, putting on a friendly smile as he approached. "Miss Berry? I'm Jacob Sanders, and this is my associate. We're private security guards for your sister." He said, smiling as he motioned his hand towards James. He hope this lie would actually work, and that they'd be one step closer to finding Amelia and Evie, he was also hoping that James would play along to make the process easier. RE: Family Betrayal - l3wt - 12-27-2012 James was quick to catch on, falling in step with Austin and turning his head occasionally to scan the surrounding area with a look of slight disinterest - looking for all the world like your regular gun-for-hire bodyguard.
"Miss Berry. My name is Christian Nordberg, pleasure to make your acquaintance. RE: Family Betrayal - Amelia - 12-29-2012 Jennifer jumped lightly as she heard her name yet again. She turned around to look at the man, smiling back at him. "M-my sister didn't inform me of any private security guards. But... she tends to k-keep me outdated about things." She said, frowning and waving both men closer.
She turned her head some more to look at the security officer. "W-were you made aware of these men?" She asked with a raised eyebrow. The security officer shook his head and looked at the two men quite suspicious, feeling that something was wrong here. Jennifer shrugged as the sec officer shook his head and turned her head back to them. "Do y-you two know the way?" RE: Family Betrayal - Wolfs Ghost - 12-29-2012
"Your sister wanted to keep this a secret, even from the employees who run this place. More or less to protect you, and you other sisters. A couple of Armed Forces officers jumped one of your sisters on Trafalgar a few hours ago, and that's why we were hired." Austin replied, wearing a concern expression on his face in an attempt to sell the lie.
After a moment of silence, he looked over at the security guard and growling at him as he spoke, "My associate and I were told to meet up with you first, then escort you to where your sister is. However... as you said she tends to keep people outdated. Now, I'm sure Amelia would be pissed if her sister failed to show up unprotected. Plenty of unsavory types coming to and from this planet." Once he was done, Austin reached into an internal pocket of his jacket and pulled out a credit chip, holding it between his pointer finger and middle finger as he handed it off towards the Security officer. "You'll find that this is more than you make per quarter. For your troubles." RE: Family Betrayal - l3wt - 12-29-2012 James let Austin take the lead on this one, and remained impassive with the duffelbag slung over his shoulder.
RE: Family Betrayal - Amelia - 01-03-2013 "Mmh... a-alright. I guess a l-little bit more protection doesn't hurt anyone. Let's go then!" Jennifer giggled lightly, clearly being unaware of it being a lie, but she wasn't expecting anything, considering that her sister merely told her to meet her to have a small chit-chat.
However, the Security officer was still suspicious about these men, especially since he was told that there will be no one else except for Jennifer. The officer glanced over the credit chip as Austin was holding it between his fingers, raising an eyebrow and shaking his head. "That won't be needed." The officer turned his head slightly towards Jennifer and gestured her to follow him closely, giving her a rather awkward look that showed confusion. He sighed softly and began slowly to walk towards a building infront of them. He looked over his shoulder to look at the men. "Are any of you armed?" RE: Family Betrayal - Wolfs Ghost - 01-03-2013 Austin had smiled softly at Jennifer, retracting his hand and sliding the credit chip into his pocket, he then started following the security guard and Jennifer at a small distance, knowing that James would be shortly behind them. "Neither of us are armed." Austin replied, having lied once more through his teeth as he began looking around the surroundings, simply observing them. RE: Family Betrayal - l3wt - 02-01-2013 James fell in step, casually and languidly.
"We know the drill. No firearms." He still didn't know precisely how he felt about this business, though. There were too many unknown variables, too many motives left frustratingly opaque, and the only thing he could really be sure of was the fact that Austin did have fundamentally good intentions. That didn't really put him any more at ease, however. Austin had a long history of good intentions, and unwelcome developments born thereof. Not a single uncertainty actually showed on his face, though. That was absolutely key in this situation, focusing too on the next phase of the plan at this point could be lethal. "Whereas undercover operations in which you are forced to maintain an alias are concerned, you need to fully adopt your persona. You are not someone pretending to be a technician, for example. Someone who is pretending is noticeable. For all intents and purposes, you ARE a technician, or a janitor, or a tired commuter, all the way up to the point you need to be a killer." The words from that particular lecture at the Academy droned on somewhere in the back of his mind, while he resisted the urge to yawn, and he again scanned the surroundings with his eyes, a bored gun-for-hire. |
