A player-base-killerbase like deathstar would be cool. lvl 5 for moving, lvl six for insta shoot/kill other base in a range of maybe 18k. blueprints needed to build it(diffrent blueprint for diffrent ways to kill it). imagine faction a steels the blueprint and only a lightfighter or a huge battlegroup is able to kill that base. it would be so lukeskywalkerish. i would really like see that.

Easy.
Get the Barge to he re-created to be a huge cannon. Bigger than the liberty siege cruiser.
Get it to charge its shots and blow up anything in its way like rocks to get through asteroid fields
Pirate Barges can threaten to blow up bases and planets!

The only thing I'd like to have are cheap civilian spaceships anyone could buy/fly, and go exploring unknown universes, learning about new cultures/races and doing awesome stuff. I hate that we can't do that (yet).

While the Moons is gravitationally locked and we always see the same face, the distance between the Moon and Earth changes on a slight eliptic. Worse still, even with the gravitational lock it doesn't take into account Earth's own rotation and we, in the course of a few weeks, will see the Moon spend half it's time out in daylight in the morning to spending it's time in the daylight during the evening. Even more is that overtime the Moon is slowly getting further away. Making a space elevator to a space station that builds and deploys spaceships without dealing with as much gravity issues as we do from the surface is certainly a good option

They wash up on beaches every couple of years here. Giant squid that is, not pirates.
There's a reasonably famous scientist who studies them here. What's really cool is that he shares my last name, that makes him the only person I know other than my own family to share that particular last name.

Actually, it'd be more logical to build a couple of elevators just up to orbit, then put what are effectively giant ferris wheels on the outer ends to fling loads out - and can also catch them.
Read the premise behind The Barsoom Project, by Larry Niven. (NOT the story they were dealing with, murder, etc., but the actual space elevator.)
