RE: Enhance Discovery 4.87 with NEW Freelancer Mod FX, MORE FUN LESS MINECRAFT!!! - Durandal - 06-22-2013 Any bozo can take new textures and dump them into the mod which aside from some not too great looking flak effects is all I see here. A properly updated graphics mod for Freelancer would actually run smoother by the way, because all vanilla effect textures are TGAs. You can have DDSes double the size for way more detail while retaining the same file size, or simply convert the existing ones to DDS and leave them be for faster perfomance. The way effects are actually carried out is handled in .ale files, which are basically particle scripts that determine the size/number/placement/color/movement of the textures making up the effect. Urgh I might as well just write up a diagram along with a tutorial for this stuff. |
