[IND]Memo Dump. - Reverend Del - 01-06-2010

Greg sat in his other office looking carefully at the message now flashing on his screen. Unbeknown to others the route it had taken to get to New London went through so many other places it's final destination was almost impossible to discern.

"Hmmmm, well if the old criminal isn't back in town. Well I suppose I ought to respond." He thought.

"Miss Dolarcent, draft a suitable response to Jay Simon if you would."

Greg turned back to the other person in his office.

"Now 006 about your next assignment."

Joe Hernandez was uncharictaristicly stressed. Juan Zavala had run off and caused him more than a few problems in sourcing certain products from certain people, and Juan's son Arsenio wasn't quite as fond of Joe as his father was.

"Oh well..." Joe sighed to himself. He still has his gun running business to rely on if certain things fell through, but Jay wouldn't be too happy about the...

Just at that moment Joe received the transmission. Composing himself for a second he started sending a video feed back.

"Jay, how's it going buddy? You still game for the ice fishing on Hamburg at some point? I've just procured some cigars which might just about be to your liking... But anyway, about the slight drop in liquidity, that's not a problem because I've got this other sou-

Oh, so right, well, yeh it was good to talk to you too man, maybe we shou-"

Jay hung up.

Joe collapsed back onto his extremely luxurious leather seat and called for Monica to bring him a brandy. This wasn't going to be an easy week.

New contract, eh...? James said to himself out loud.
Better read this one over, don't want to end up like ol' Otis last time...

James started searching around in the drawer of his desk. He quickly found what he was looking for, a fat black marker, and got to work.

Don't like that... he mumbled as he read the second line. He promptly drew a thick black line over the offending text, and continued reading.

And so it progressed for at least an hour, until James was finally satisfied with his handywork. At this point, he pulled out a traditionally cheap ball-point and signed his name.

Jay wont like this.
Nevermind eh? Haha!

Virgil glanced over his paperwork, dis-satisfied...

"Where is that..."

He threw aside a stack of papers regarding charity work and pulled an envelope from his IN Box...
Upon opening it, he frowned, reading the small-text.

"Something about... payment..." Virgil drew some arrows and crossed out some text... "Nothing about..."

He settled it down and signed his name.

"Janice!" he paused "Errr, Tracy?"

"My name is Lisa" a voice buzzed over his internal comms,

"Oh, sorry Lisa, have my contract mailed back please" he said, throwing it in the OUT Box.

Sasha strolled down the hallway to the lift, humming a little tune that she couldn't seem to get out of her head...

*** forget your troubles come on get happy... we're gonna chase all your blues away...

The latest finance reports were looking quite good and the ROE especially delightful. She knew Jay would be most pleased. Who wouldn't be a marked increase in revenues is always preferable to the alternative. The doors of the lift opened silently and she stepped in, passed her hand over the floor selector bar, still humming.

"Miss Castille...", James paged.

"Yes, James?"

"I've got the report on Gunter you asked for"

"Let's have it"

"It seems Gunter has increased his coverage substantially, I sent a query and the response was well... a bit creepy" The COMLINK conveyed his concern.

"Creepy..."

"Something along the order of increased risk in operational duties and... he quoted Faust..."

"Oh Dear, Faust?"

"Faust"

"Thank you, James"

The lift doors opened and Sasha stepped out... no longer humming. She put on her game face and stepped into Jay's Offices where she saw Sophie in the foyer, pouring a drink.

"Sasha, great to see you!" Sophie gave her a smile.

"Hey, Sophie...," she began, relieving the beautiful girl of the crystal tumbler,"...allow me to wet his whistle"

Sophie released the vessel to Sasha and rolled her eyes, whistling lightly.

Sasha stepped into the expanse that was Jay's office. It was more like a penthouse than an office, furnished in excessive but tasteful decor. What do you get for the man who has everything? The only word that came to mind was...

'More'

Jay was sitting in his chair back to the door, gazing out the window, his desk somewhat cluttered with paperwork, folders and the BIG RED stamp. The one she hoped never to see used. Sasha slipped up behind him and purred...

"Your drink, Jay", handing him the tumbler.

"Sasha?"

He was clearly surprised to see her, turning to accept it. His eyes betrayed nothing, but the empty tumbler on the desk and the tension in his jaw told her volumes.

"I thought I'd bring you up my contract personally, Jay... and... the latest finance reports from downstairs. Looks to be very promising. This thing between Rhineland and Kusari... travel agreements and what not... well let's just say our projected increase is well beyond 14 percent per quarter. I suspect those are conservative estimates, my people are anticipating more like 18 percent. Either way, good news for us."

Jay nodded and motioned her to leave the contract and reports on his desk.

"Encouraging numbers, Sasha... anything else?"

"We're seeing an increase in voluntary coverage in the Rhineland Military sector, Jay... coupled with the reports of increased sightings of Rhineland warships in Liberty... well..."

"Yes... I know."

Jay took a healthy swallow from the crystal tumbler, the liquid amber sliding over his tongue...and warming him. He turned to face the window again.

"Good to see you, Sasha"

She smiled and took her dismissal silently, returning to the lift. Suddenly, Sasha didn't feel like humming anymore.

Konrad was sitting in his office on Bonn station, when he receives a high priority email.

Oh schprokets, what now ?

He reads the title, it says 'Contract Renewal'.

Hmm.. very interesting. Frau Heidi! Kindly bring me a cup of coffee, I've got reading to do!

He begins reading the document, without the tea, nodding in approval.

Sehr gut.. sehr gut...

He swiftly skims most of it, signs on the dotted line, and mails it back.

That should do it, too much reading is bad for my mood. FRAULEIN, WHERE'S MY DAMNED CUP OF COFFEE?

Andy Harris was sitting in the lounge at Bonn, having a cig and waiting for the dock workers to fill up the Casual Friday with H-fuel. A few months back he'd made a deal with the Bretonians to supply them with fuel from Rheinland, but that contract was about to run out. Andy toyed with the idea of renewing it and heading up toward Kusari to get cheaper prices on the stuff, but quickly dismissed the idea. He was already on pretty bad terms with the folks up north, and if they found out that Andy was supplying their enemy with resources... not worth the risk.

Andy checked his watch. The dock workers ought to be done with the cargo in just a few minutes. He got up to leave just as an Interspace employee entered the room.

"This just arrived for you, sir..." he said, handing over a few papers. Andy's eye caught the send-date; three days ago.

"It 'just' arrived? How long have you been holding this for me?" He asked. The Interspace employee just shrugged.

"Mm. Well, thanks anyway." Andy got on the lift that took him to the docks, and read through the papers on his way down.

"Contract renewal," he mumbled to himself, neatly folding the message and placing it in his breast pocket. "I'll fill it out later... send it back to Jay. No rush."

With that, Andy got off the lift, and headed for his ship.

[IND]Memo Dump. - Koolmo - 01-08-2010

A middle aged man, arms covered from wrist to bicep in tattoos, held a piece of paper and a large glass of gin. He inquired of the contract "Now, I'm sure this means I don't get fired, right?"

The paper maintained it's silence.

"I won't, will I?"

The paper stayed silent.

"I can still drink though, right?'

The paper repeated itself.

"Ah, excellent! Would you like some gin, Mr. Paper?"

'Why yes, yes I would old lad. Yes, make it a large glass, would you? There we are. Now, sign me, please?'

"A pleasure, Mr. Paper, always a pleasure. Oddly enough, everything is, with gin."

[IND]Memo Dump. - Dieter Schprokets - 01-09-2010

Conrad Black was roused from his slumber by the "incoming message" code on his purpleberry, and rolled out of bed like a boulder wouldn't, but like jello may.

The word "Corpulent" ran through his companion's half asleep mind, then she drifted back off to sleep. No matter, she was well paid.

Conrad gave his head a shake, inhaled some caffeine powder, gave his head a much more vigorous shake, and looking out the window realized the autopilot had failed again and he was 3 hours away from a serious altercation with the sun, which it would win.

After rebooting the machine, and providing the necessary course corrections, he reflected on how much harm the buggy products of the eternal monster Microsoft still did. Though to be sure, those who burned up in a solar corona did not tend to pester the tech service lines afterwards. Not that it would do you any good.

Bill Gates. Head in a jar, still calling the shots after all these years, and still married (consecutively) to the hottest young celebrities. A role model for any enterprising young man.

Conrad read the document quickly, shrugged, signed on the dotted line, and went for a walk to find the Bailey's. Maybe he'd even add coffee.

Well - if this hasnt turned into a right old shambles. Ill keep this breif because as everyone here knows time is money and money is time and im not about to be wasting either - Dont get me wrong, its not that I wouldnt buy everyone here a round at the Omega Bar on Manhattan, its just that i have three lawyers standing in front of me telling me some kind of legalese and to be honest, all i can think about is that i'm paying each of them 2000 credits and hour.
I'm on Gran Canaria right now, i stitched up a deal to move some goods into Bretonia, no problem there, however, apparently ive run into some kind of... I have no idea, local issue in regards to moving certain goods on some kind of "public holiday" (as a side... no wonder these people are so pedantic, who actually gives the general public a holiday?) which i apparently tried to do and some local bigwig has decided to make an example here and im bogged down in legal proceedings trying to make this thing go away.
Of course i've hired the best lawyers, not content with one, i have a team... they seem to think that i can just pay this out or i can fight it in the local court - however, the local court is run but a guy who wears some kind of strange hat and doesnt seem to think there is anything wrong with that.... im dubious of his ability to see "the spirit of the law".

Anyway, i predict i will be airborne again soon, if i have to part with some coin here to make this go away i will.. but god help these primates if they even so much as try to negotiate a deal with me again.
