Well, the remnants of yesterday's aborted convoy still had Beryllium ore - the Hobson picked some up from King's Cross. We then proceeded to offload at Planet Pittsburgh, meeting with Miss Savard en-route. At Pittsburgh, we loaded on a shipment of Boron and returned to Thames Station in New London. Convoy Incidents: Nothing particularly noteworthy happened, really. It was all rather quiet and pleasant - no friction, no drama. No being pulled over by the Liberty primary fleet for slave trading (Mr Bellock...). An ideal convoy, it could be said. Other Notes: Miss Savard got her first taste of convoy management and direction today, when she took point from Kingston Border Station to our destination. She appears to be taking her cues from Kiriko, as she did her job with distinction and professionalism. Her confidence could be worked upon, but that's a matter time and experience will remedy. "After hearing that BMM's eager miners had filled King's Cross' storage to overflowing, Mr. Moreland and I decided to ship some of it out to Planet Pittsburgh. Arriving there with 4035 tons of Beryllium ore in my cargo hold and 4100 tons of Gold ore in his, we sold it to local contractors for a very good price. We filled our transports with Boron from DSE's mining facilities, returned to Bretonia and sold our cargo to Scarborough." Convoy Incidents: "In regard to external encounters, it was the single most uneventful convoy ever. Neither police nor pirate ships crossed our way, which allowed us to arrive at Scarborough without damage and in very good time." Other Notes: "During our way from Canterbury to the Manchester gate, Mr. Moreland made the mistake of mocking and questioning my piloting skills, claiming that he could do better! We agreed on organizing a race over a prize of 25 million credits. I am confident that Mr. Moreland will regret his words when I use his savings to assign Scarborough's crew with painting a big "#2" on the side of the Wolfe." ![]() ~ End of Transmission ~ Bowex InfoNet - Redon - 05-30-2012 ~ Incoming Transmission from King's Cross Station, New London System (78.12.48.218.87.144.10.169) ~ From: Jan Peters, Supervisor.~ Date: 30. "Trying to export more of King's Cross stocked ores, we organized a fairly big convoy in a surprisingly short time, and took off for Liberty. There we sold the gold and beryllium ores on planet Pittsburgh, and purchased Boron for the way back to Bretonia. In total, I'd estimate that about 21'500 units of ore were moved off the station." Convoy Incidents: "Likely thanks to our quick departure, giving pirates little time to organise an assault, the way to Liberty was very quiet - we had no hostile encounters on the way. However, as we arrived at the California -> Magellan gate on our way back, our scout Ms. Hidamari reported that an Outcast gunboat named Dmitri.Mercado was waiting on the other side of the gate. We held our convoy at the border station nearby, waiting to see how the situation would develop. After all of Mr. Hidamari's diplomatic attempts at making the gunboat leave proved to be futile, we eventually decided to go in with the combined force of all of our ships. Even at the sight of that power, the Outcast showed little interest in making a bolt for it, but once in combat, our turrets quickly convinced him otherwise. However, there was no escape for him, the Bowex convoy turned his ship into a pile of scrap in a matter of minutes. With that out of the way, we restored the convoy formation, went back home to Bretonia and arrived safely, accompanied by two BPA officers who had come out all the way to Magellan to support us. In the light of reports regarding a gallic junker ship in the Dublin system, we changed our course at Canterbury to head for Dublin and confront the gaul. Passing by Thames, the BES Orange left our convoy, but we met up with the BES Nightingale and the BES Keynes who joined us on our way to Dublin! Arriving in the field, I quickly recognized our target as the damn frog Jaque.Silvion, who had escaped me past Glasgow with a load of gold ore earlier today! Unable to tolerate the sight of a gaul in our Bretonian ore fields, we demanded a compensation of three million credits from him, followed by him leaving Bretonian skies forever! He did however not comply and silently hid among a few very dishonourable BMM independent miners, who were actually defending him and went as far as threatening us with their laughable firepower! It's saddening to see that such men live among us, who would betray Bretonia to defend a gaul simply because he means business and money for them! Nevertheless, we did not pay much attention to them. Instead, we opened fire on the gaul after he made it overly clear he was not going to comply with our demands. Needless to say, his ship didn't last longer than the outcast and its debris are now out there polluting Dublin's ore fields." Other Notes: "During the fight in the East Independent Field in Dublin, the BES Conway hit one of the countless scattered mines, which heavily damaged my engine to the point where I had to leave the convoy at Thames. While the remaining ships in the convoy finished their run to Scarborough, I had my engines repaired by some of the engineers, who were happy to help for a little recompense. I was amazed at how quickly the Conway was repaired and again ready for space! At King's Cross' dock, I met the other captains who had already returned from Newcastle. They summarized their run to Scarborough for me, which appeared to be refreshingly uneventful." ![]() ~ End of Transmission ~ Bowex InfoNet - Beauenheim - 06-01-2012 INCOMMING TRANSMISSION FROM PLANET NEW LONDON: DATE: May 31, 819 ![]() Convoy Report: Convoy Participants:
Guncam Photos: http://postimage.org/gallery/8y6cao8/a3112af9/ "A rather quickly organized convoy by Mr. Peterson to remove Both Niobium and Gold Ore from King's Cross, to be taken to Planet New Berlin. The Gladstone, Tresher, and Smallwood (Me) all split the ore evenly, while the Johnson took a full load of Gold Ore. On the way back, we were all to receive Aluminum Ore from Daumann Miners. The Hawking met us at the mining point, while unfortunately we lost the Johnson, when he had communication issues and had to repair it overnight. The Gladstone took over as the convoy leader, and we took the Ore to Stokes. We then flew to Planet New London and bought necessities for King's Cross Station." Convoy Incidents: "I learned today that 4 shires are just simply not to be trifled with. After we were all loaded with our ore, Hawking was in front and encountered a Red Hessian cruiser: The Gollweig. After we all reached for his aid, with the help of the nearby base, and us, he was wiped out. Later on, we encountered a bomber, by the name of: Mr.Bruke, who cloaked when he realized that he could not take on 4 stationary shires. Easy day" Other Notes: "When we were all waiting for our ore, as the Daumann Miner started working, Peters started a good ol' dice rolling game. Several round of the Rheinlanders taking quite a bit of the winnings, we had one last match, everyone put in 10 million credits, and I won the game of dice, 30 million credits, 20 from the Rheinlanders. A win for Bretonia! I bought everyone drinks on King's Cross when we got home" <div align="right] END OF TRANSMISSION Bowex InfoNet - Bowex - 06-01-2012 To: Bowex InfoNet; all employees. Bowex InfoNet - Irwin - 06-01-2012 ![]() Convoy Participants:
The oh so legendary Dink Smallwood and another BMM employee managed to secure quite a bit of ore for King's Cross, so a convoy was arranged to make some room for more pressing materials and haul the Cobalt off the station. We hauled the ore to Denver and picked up some Superconductors from there, but Mr. Bellock had to make that his stop (thank god). We dropped the Superconductors off on Planet Cambridge and geared up for a second run through. Joined by Mr. Hoggles, we set out with another load of ores, however Kiriko could not accompany us on the start of our run. After a lengthy debate of who should manage the convoy in her stead, Mr. Peters chose to place the honour upon myself. The Whitecliff had to detach from the convoy after we reached Denver, and we made our way back to Bretonia. We met up with Kiriko after we returned to New London, and dropped off the second load of Superconductors, and made our way to King's Cross, thus marking the end of the convoy. Convoy Incidents: Surprisingly few, just one encounter with a Rogue Gunboat in New York that ended rather badly for the rogue, and ended up costing a few hundred thousand in repairs for us. Other Notes: Mr. Peters is a scoundrel, Mr. Bellock is a loon, Mr. Wellington is a mix between the two, and Kiriko recommends we all attempt to use some form of courtesy when we interact in the future. A bit too much to ask if you want my opinion! |
