So what you're saying is the models, assets, etc should stay in the game just to clog up some extra hard disk space and never be used, because the faction that once used them has been disbanded?
The Phantoms have come and gone, the assets they used (which in my opinion weren't even that pretty to now's standards) are left on the mod with no use at all, why shouldn't they be recycled if the admins haven't deleted them in all this time?
P.S. Don't forget that before they were phantom toys they were the Lane Hacker LF and LSF VHF. Oh and Corsair Cruiser.
What I'm saying is that those unused assets should be removed, it's as simple as that. They're rubbish quality anyway. Course I remember they used to be toys of other factions before being taken away and made phantom-only, witnessed that drama too, but that doesn't matter now, does it?
Rev could have some odd sinister patch-work-looking ships, a-la Reavers from Firefly and bits of matrix drones. Similarly something odd-looking for alien Eth.
Current phantom ships? Fits neither.
p.s. poll is rubbish and cheering "+1 honor points" crowd is full of it too. submit to poll and get a free badge, oh yeah, mhm, totally worth it.

I briefly entertained the option of combining the two ideas, however I'm afraid that it would ruin both concepts. Better to let the other one fly on its own merits.

Garrett, I find your conclusion when faced with the feedback of the community quite admirable to say what you have about the re-write.
What does this mean however, is the replacement to be put on hold until you can be given a chance to re-write some aspects? Or will something different be taking place, such as one of the alternatives.

I can't help but prefer the Etherium. While I don't really see the need to add yet another faction to this mod just to use some 'dormant' resources, it's a cool concept nonetheless.
I suspect a big reason for people liking the Etherium write-up so much is just how much more detailed it is compared to the other two main contenders. It stands out because of that.
