System map discussion thread - Frog - 09-15-2008 Champagne ( where i was born:)), dauphine', lorraine and languedoc...ok, i know it as french regions. But burgundy ? what is that ? System map discussion thread - Igiss - 09-15-2008 Quote:Champagne ( where i was born ), dauphine', lorraine and languedoc...ok, i know it as french regions. But burgundy ? what is that ?http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Burgundy We use English versions of the names, when such versions are available. Besides, the English name for this region is used in other languages as well (like Russian), so "Burgundy" will be more understandable for a larger part of server population. Quote:As has been said, Gallia is kind of linear. What about something like a connection between Lorraine and Dauphine?Yes, we disconnected Humboldt to bring more life into Mackenzie and provide non-Guard access to Humboldt. Now about Gallia... this region will have quite a large number of systems (if everything goes as planned). Core systems, including Ile-de-France (not New Paris, that will be the name of the capital planet only), will be included in the next two versions. Other systems might be delayed even longer. Providing additional paths to Gallia is possible in the future versions, but it should be well-explianed how those paths were not found before by Sirius explorers (two main paths were hidden within mine fields, as we remember). So, those additional paths will not lead to any of the currently existing systems, neither from Gallia nor from Sirius side. Also, Gallia is meant to be a remote area of space. We only have a schematic map, and cannot display how far this region actually is (same is true about Nomad space). The sleeper ship was on route for 84 years longer than Manhattan one, remember? Liberty is overcrowded. Yes. If you haven't noticed, it was overcrowded compared to other regions even in Vanilla. It's in the center and surrounded by Independent Worlds. Sure, there's not enough space to place systems far from each other. Liberty has 3 new systems, and addition of each had important reasons. Ellesmere is the guard system for LSF faction (which now has its own space NPCs). Kansas was added by request of Kansas Discovery server, this system has no bases, just for exploration. Pennsylvania is the new large system, and a new starting location for server and single-player characters (unless you specify something else in the mod options). Pennsylvania is fully populated and has a number of bases, both lawful and unlawful. It also has one settled planet - Erie, connected with trade lanes to the New York Jump Gate. On the NY side, you will find the gate very near to the place where Magellan gate was located before. Pennsylvania also has jump hole connections to California and Texas. System map discussion thread - old.steel - 09-15-2008 Wow, at least we got some details. Amazing. If you need some help with QA or balancing, just call me. System map discussion thread - Cawdor - 09-15-2008 Minnesota quebeck new hampshire bremen yukon ontario alberta Will these systems be filled? If yes, why not renaming new hampshire into an independent borderworld? Also: What happened to the 58-lota connection? Was the connection simply forgotten or will it not be added in the next mod? System map discussion thread - bearlee89 - 09-15-2008 This is going to be fun. French shall prevail! =DD And I'm hoping there's going to be more Council/Gallic Navy/Police faction information released soon as well? System map discussion thread - greendragon - 09-15-2008 Liberty is too dominant on this map, just look at Rheinland: totally like a fallen nation. Would Rheinland ever overcome his inner decline, when would the fatherland finally fall, and the Motherland that died hundreds of years ago reborn? And there is the Bering issue: everyone forgot that Liberty was out to claim that system despite the resistance of Rheinland and the Zoners. Even in the current version, Liberty is marching toward faschism (I'm talking about both the story and the roleplay too) and would soon ban free press and build up her military power to invade the surrounding systems when they're weak. If Liberty is out to conquer all of Sirius, then this map would be perfect (except of Bering), otherwise a little strange if we check the political, territorial, influental, and military balance. Rheinland would easily fall by the hands of his neighbours... And an interesting question: would a revolution overtake the current regime in one of the houses? I'm referring to Rheinland and Kusari. System map discussion thread - Aurigae - 09-15-2008 If I remember correctly, Orkney has Junker Guard NPCs. And the other way lies through Alpha... Guess I know a new highway, heh. I wonder how OC will react on the visitors in Alpha during the first days, when everyone is up to exploring Gallia. System map discussion thread - Eppy - 09-15-2008 Quote:I wonder how OC will react on the visitors in Alpha during the first days, when everyone is up to exploring Gallia. They are all going to DIE. And I think they'll be in for a surprise if they actually try to get to Gallia through Alpha...the terrain may just do our jobs for us.:) System map discussion thread - Igiss - 09-15-2008 Quote:Also: What happened to the 58-lota connection? Was the connection simply forgotten or will it not be added in the next mod? This connection was never even intended, and I explained multiple times why. The Wild story will be taken over in future versions. Always expect the unexpected. Quote:Liberty is too dominant on this map, just look at Rheinland: totally like a fallen nation.Colors of systems on this map represent the fact that they belong to the particular space, not to the particular House territory. Look at Liberty again: Yukon is under Xeno control, Alberta is overrun by Rogues and has minor lawful presence, Quebec belt is simply a war zone with Rheinland and does not have any stationary bases any further than Minnesota (battleships don't count). Kansas doesn't have any bases at all, and few NPCs. Puerto Rico is a Junker system. Quote:MinnesotaQuestion already answered. Yukon... no idea, unless someone will submit an update there won't be anything new there. All other systems are getting updated. Liberty is not out to conquer all Sirius. They are out to attack (not to conquer) Rheinland, and you'll know why. Quote:And an interesting question: would a revolution overtake the current regime in one of the houses? I'm referring to Rheinland and Kusari.No. System map discussion thread - Eboksba - 09-15-2008 Hehe, I'm gonna love exploring this offline.
