RE: The Force Awakens [SPOILERS! DO NOT ENTER!] - Tenacity - 01-01-2016 Saw it tonight, finally. I liked it, and definitely like seeing an unconventional sith here. All of the sith we've seen in the past have been strong, cunning, manipulative, powerful, deceitful. Kylo Ren is more what you'd expect to see from your typical sith recruit: angsty and trying to find the easy way out through the dark side. I dont LIKE kylo ren, or his personality, but I do like that he's different than what we've seen in the past. Also, still trying to figure out who Rey is, Luke's daughter or someone else's? Either way, she's hot, and she needs to turn that scavenger staff into a polesaber. As for han dying, that was the sad moment of the movie for me, he and fett were always my favorite star wars characters, far moreso than the glowstick twirling force junkies. Smugglers and bounty hunters FTW. However, I've heard theories that perhaps han isnt actually dead and survives the encounter. Hard to believe, but then again we did see Darth Maul survive getting cut in half and return to confront kenobi, so anything is possible. RE: The Force Awakens [SPOILERS! DO NOT ENTER!] - E X O D I T E - 01-09-2016 I'm waiting for the orbital bombardment of the Rebel scum after the younger sexier Tarkin was told to get off his natural male enhancement, I mean Death Star. They know where the Rebel scum are, why aren't they cleansing them with orbital fire? This is the "Send a Star Destroyer to the middle of nowhere to beat up an old guy when a simple commando raid from a freighter would do the trick" First Order. Of course they have the resources to simply send a Star Destroyer to, I dunno, pull a Planetary Makeover: Toledo Edition on the place. #BringBackZahn RE: The Force Awakens [SPOILERS! DO NOT ENTER!] - Thyrzul - 01-09-2016 Resistance managed to wreck Starkiller base with two fighter wings and an infiltration team of three. What do you think they could do to mere caps? RE: The Force Awakens [SPOILERS! DO NOT ENTER!] - Highland Laddie - 01-09-2016 So, after losing 2 Death Stars and the bulk of the empire in the process, some tard in the First Order said "Hey! Let's build ANOTHER giant planet-killing weapon that is also quite vulnerable!" Geniuses. Also, what the heck was the Republic doing for 30 years while these guys were building this thing? You'd think somebody would have noticed. In regards to Han dying, I don't like it, but I can see why they did it. For one, I'm sure Harrison Ford is just sick of the role and wanted to be done before he went senile. For second, it's a classical "passing of the torch" move. They'll kill off all the old heroes and the new ones will survive, then we will be expected to accept them as the new set of characters we care about. I like Kylo Ren. I like that he's immature and unstable. I'm sick of all the clean-cut maniacal-ism and pure-evil of the bad guys. I wanna see a tortured soul at work. Also, they made Poe Dameron too good of a pilot. In the scene at the bar place, Poe literally destroys like 10 fighters with intermittent ground support fire that accurately hits storm troopers standing like 2 feet from Han and Chewie, ALL within a span of like 30 seconds. If he's not a latent-force user, that's just bullcrap. How come there are like no good tie pilots? On that note, why were the tie pilots chasing Rey and Finn on Jakku smart enough to see them running to one ship and blow it up before they got there, but didn't blow up the Millenium Falcon before they got there? Or became unable to shoot it once it was in the air? Horse crap. I'm hoping Episode VIII is better in the way Episode V was better than IV. |
