But if you want the discovery GC to grow there's a chance but its small cuz most players nowdays play hardcore PVP games / esports .
You probably know no real hardcore PvP games, aight?
While actually Freelancer could be a very nice discipline in case it had modern engine and code. Since like 2006 there were various fan-started projects to rebuild the game (most of them being Unity-based), all of them currently being dead. I only know 1 such alive project, being sloooooooowly developed at the moment.

which one, link?

yo yo hold on freelancer haven't seen an update since the middle ages how can u expect someone to buy/play it?

The idea of hosting an .iso for Freelancer has been thrown around here and there, though da' law is scary and we'd rather not make the risk just in case some people come after us for it.

One of the members here mentioned he knew a place where it was being hosted already, and has offered to ask if we can use his website as a download location. I'm hoping that we get somewhere with that.

Being able to provide people with the normal Freelancer game along with the mod would be an excellent way to boost up numbers.

Only way to get Freelancer is from thisisozone , http://www.theisozone.com/downloads/pc/windows-games/freelancer/

I found some Russian website that did it, I used it to install Freelancer on my netbook (as it has no disc drive), It worked fine with other mods, but I didnt really trust it all too well, It had a completely different opening screen (Instead of having the microsoft and digital anvil opening screens) But if i find the link I may put it here (But I dont guarantee that its malware/virus free, It didnt do anything to my netbook so it seemed ok!)

T**rent sites Don't "host" files either, just links to them, they get shut down all the time, just saying :S

Evanz, stop freaking the hell out.
First of all, Microsoft doesn't care.
Secondly, if they did, the worst case they could do is send a takedown demand. That is literally it.

that thing plus the discoverygc.com server do not host the file so if they ever care (which they won't) they will take action against server hosting website, this link maybe be posted on hundred of websites what you think they will take down every single website and every computer who have file?

To be honest, making a stand-alone installer for Discovery would solve the whole problem for not finding a copy of Freelancer.

Indi developers can do a lot of things , I have seen some good games made by indi developers , Those at Microsoft are also Human Beings not from another planet

^ Exactly .
Link here only post to The ISO zone page where is description of freelancer game , game itself is not posted on that page . You need to click on mirror on that page that will then connect you to hosting service .
Worst case scenario is like @sindroms say a takedown demand to The ISO zone , Discovery has not connected in any way .
